My new favourite restaurant in Nottingham. Went for my birthday and was so happy with the way we were treated. 10/10 for everything! Service, food, atmosphere - it all made the night really special. And as a fan of Italy and Italian food, the food and selection here does not disappoint. The beef ragu in particular was incredible! Can't wait to come back :)

This is our second visit to La Storia and once again it was amazing. We were booked in at 5pm on a Wednesday evening which meant that the Dine Around Italy menu was available, a pasta dish and a glass of house wine for £14 - bargain! The pasta we had was topped with lashings of pecorino cheese and crispy guanciale - so simply but my goodness it was tasty! Highly recommend the Dine Around Italy menu, it’s only available Wednesday to Friday 5-6pm and isn’t available all year round so keep your eyes open for it.

Food is good, but not that exceptional for the price. The furniture and decor is nice, and it does create a good atmosphere, however I felt the tables were quite close and you could hear the conversation on the next table. I felt conscious to keep my voice down. The waiter that served us was very polite and well presented, however, if I wish to pay a tip, I’ll choose how much I’d like to give. I don’t expect a small independent restaurant to automatically add a 10% service charge. To conclude, a touch expensive and I felt it a cheek to add a further 10%. It does also feel a touch convenient that most the reviews on here do have quite a selection of photographs. I won’t be rushing back!!!

After photographing a wedding here a few weeks ago and sampling some of the food, I decided I had to bring the family back for a meal. So we came back for my wife’s birthday yesterday! She loved it, the kids loved it and so did I. I can confidently say we will be back again soon ?Vegetarian options: My wife and daughter are both vegetarian and they loved it!

What a great place. We met as a family (12 altogether) for a special birthday. We had preordered the food which was absolutely delicious and plentiful. The young staff were friendly, professional and attentive. They are a real credit to the restaurant.Despite the size of our party, and plenty of other customers to serve - our food arrived all together and hot.Although there are some beautiful Italian dishes on the menu, on Sunday they serve roasts. The lamb was pink, the beef was tender, the roasties crisp and the vegetables soft and hot. Those who chose from the Italian menu also loved their dishes - clean plates all round.I don't live locally so La Storia will not be a regular venue but the next time we need somewhere for a special occasion in Nottingham it is top of our list.If you are local and haven't tried this restaurant, you really should and if you are just visiting go on try it you know you want to.Congratulations to everyone at La Storia - you made a special occasion very special. Thank you.Dietary restrictions: One of our party has a mushroom allergy. This information had been passed to the restaurant prior to our arrival and all staff remembered and checked on each appropriate occasions. Brilliant.Parking: On Sunday there was plenty of parking on the street just 2 minutes from La Storia.Kid-friendliness: We had an 8 year old with our party. He had a love roast beef dinner just a bit smaller which he loved. His meal came first -anyone with kids knows how annoying a hungry child can be so that was very much appreciated.

I'm from Northern Ireland. I was in Nottingham for a couple days for a work event and friends came from Birmingham to meet us for dinner. They had been to La Storia before and figured we would love it. Well .....that turned out to be an understatement. A balmy Wednesday evening and on entering the restaurant, the ambience was ticking all the boxes of a great evening. The first thing that caught my eye was a waiter balancing a sharing platter on his way to a table. He greeted us with the widest smile and some fancy footwork weaving his way to awaiting diners. Now, there is a guy who loves his work. I figured he must be related to the Italian owners or have shares in the business, because of his enthusiasm. Settled at our table, I was delighted to see that there were 4 starters and 4 pasta mains on the menu. This tells me that the quality of those dishes is going to be fabulous, because the chefs aren't having to dilute their talent over dozens of dishes. Normally my husband and I will order different choices, eat half and swap plates. Just to experience the different flavours and textures. But we had been eating out for 3 days, so we decided to share a stater. We opted for the tartlet. Or rather half a tartlet....A generous serving of the creamy burrata was most welcome and complimented the tomato, onion, oregano and basil. One of our party ordered the red mullet. I had resisted as I'm not very adventurous with fish - finding a fish bone is a major turn off. But when the mullet appeared it was a fillet (yay, no bones, no eyes, no head). And the fillet was perched atop a pyramid of salad. Our friend declared it as delicious. And suddenly I am reminded that I have ignored my usual mantra where I would rather regret ordering something that didn't live up an an expectation rather than not ordering at all. Mains. The 4 others at our table went straight for the Strascinati with pork ragu and blueberries. Whereas I went for the salmon ravioli. The ravioli were generously packed with smoked salmon and I really enjoyed the courgette. I ate half and waited patiently for my husband to eat half of his strascinati. I already had to listen to a chorus of "nom nom nom" from the other 4 at the table, so I knew I was in for a treat. Plates deftly swapped, I dug in to the pork ragu pasta. Thankfully it was a generous portion, as I could not get enough of this lip-smacking meaty dish. It was without doubt, the star of the show. 5 clean plates including a takeaway box for 1 of our party who couldn't finish their strascinati. I genuinely didn't have any space left for dessert. And I am one of those folks who normally has a separate section of my stomach specially reserved for dessert. But I remembered that regret from not ordering the mullet......so ordered the nutella tiramisu to share with my friend. Oh wow, another generous portion and everyone was able to have a couple of spoonfuls. Fantastic food. We settled the bill with Jacob who had greeted us on the way in. And thankfully he had time for a wee chat with us. Turns out I am rubbish at judging folks. He is not a professional dancer, neither is he Italian. In fact he is Irish but fooled me with his well travelled multi-accent. Such an enigmatic young man who is passionate about the food and pleasing customers. Jacob is clearly an asset to any employer. Sadly, it is highly unlikely that I will be back in Nottingham again. But if I was, I'd make sure to plan my trip around the opening hours of La Storia because they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

My husband and I visited La Storia on an early Saturday evening. The restaurant itself is lovely with a nice relaxed ambiance. The service was fantastic, and the food was delicious. I had a lovely Hugo spritz cocktail too!

Really can't recommend this gem of a restaurant enough. One of the best Italian restaurants that we have ever eaten in, friendly and charming service. La Storia transports you to Italy, even on a grey Nottingham Sunday!

A fabulous evening filled with excellent service, a warm friendly atmosphere and the most delicious food and wine. The pasta is freshly made and was perfect. I have a garlic allergy and, without doubt, this is the most considerate and accomodating Italian restuarant ever. They emailed me the menu 5 days before so I could choose any dish I wanted and the chef would make it specially for me. Exceptional. I can't recommend La Storia enough, sensational in everyway. Thank you x

This is a little gem. Wanted a meal before watching the football and my son wanted pasta. We were early enough to have the early evening offer. Great food and the service was exceptional. Would highly recommend

We dined at La Storia Nottingham in West Bridgford on Wednesday 23/08/23WOW ?, WOW ? and WOW ? again ?We haven’t been for quite a while, but decided to book to ‘cheer ourselves up’, and so glad we did!La Storia has been refurbished since our last visit and you really get the authentic Italian style and ambiance! (Not that you didn’t before)A lovely warm welcome by Sophie and other staff, and a choice of tables to choose from!We went for the ‘Dine around Italy’ menu…initially… but then decided to add starters, sweets etc. etc.(as you do!)The food was beautifully presented, extremely tasty, and very enjoyable. All the staff are very friendly, pleasant and attentive, without being intrusive, allowing diners to enjoy a leisurely meal .We left La Storia sufficiently fed, and enjoyed one of the best nights we have had for ages!Won’t be long before we are back for more ‘deliciousness’ ?If you have never been to La Storia, then please do try the restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!Chris.
