The pub is cosy and spacious with lovely fireplaces. There is only ever 2 staff waiting behind the bar.Took my parents who were here from abroad and was extremely disappointed with the food as most of it is cheap frozen

Disappointed by a 50 minute wait for two meals on a Thursday when the pub was quiet. It was just before Christmas but it wasn't busy late afternoon. When it came, food was OK but not as good as usual. Eg, avocado in salad wasn't quite ripe. Nice atmosphere though and staff were friendly.

Wonderful Christmas Day dinner at the Apple Tree. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and efficient. So accommodating when I said I have a back injury. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was was buzzing and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, thank you.

The food was good, the beer range was okay but a beer or two from smaller breweries would be better.

Lovely pub with great atmosphere, Claire was really friendly and the beer selection was plentiful.

Economical choices including fixed price multi-course meals, lunch bites, and more. Free parking available. A better/safe option is to book your table in advance.

Okay pub in Compton Acres. Easy parking availability. Had booked table in advance but no need on weekday evening.Okay service and food. Little slow. Food standard pub fare, decent enough. Will likely come back occasionally.

Typical estate chain pub. Food ok but not brilliant. Beer good and well kept. I took a group of 10 walkers aged 60+ there. Strangely, despite pre-ordering, we were asked to pay for the food on arrival before the kitchen would start it. So we had to wait 30 minutes. I just got a feeling throughout the whole process that we were not made particularly welcome in comparison with other similar places that embraced a large group. Sorry, just being honest.

We booked a table and was sat in the children’s area which was very noisy. I ordered a curry, this was fine. My husband ordered the hunters chicken, due to a restricted diet asked for grilled tomatoes instead of the onion rings mushrooms. The chicken was overcooked and the tomatoes had just been flashed on the griddle. He was very disappointed. He did mention it to the server who said she would tell the chef.Dietary restrictions: My husband’s dietary requirements were not fully followed

Visited here with my parents and son, outstanding food and service. My 1 year olds food came out just before ours and he enjoyed every piece of it. Also a little section of toys in the children’s section to play for after. Our food was cooked to perfection the portion sizes were huge.. would like to do a special mention to our waitress lordes & to Claire who gave us a fantastic welcome Thankyou!

I love the decor, and the welcoming open fireplace (fire was lit today). There was only one person behind the bar, but he was friendly and helpful. The food came out quickly. My husband had a roast dinner, which he said was decent. I had Sea Bass, which was overcooked (although that's better than being undercooked), with soggy skin (fried then microwaved?), 3 bits of asparagus, and some new potatoes - they were al dente (fine for me) but tasteless and not seasoned. Standard pub chain food.
