This restaurant was an absolute gem of a find. A good choice of really delicious food, we couldn't resist having starter, main and dessert! The staff were attentive and paid attention to detail, but also human and friendly. The food was great, and the atomsphere was welcoming. It has its own free car parking so you don't have to worry. All the meals were clearly labeled if vegetarian, vegan or gluten free friendly. Very reasonable prices too compared to other places. We wouldn't hesitate to come back again with more family and friendly.

Food was incredible. Place was very quiet on a weeknight, which was fine for us. Staff were really lovely. The music was good and as it was our anniversary they played our first dance song on request.Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options available for starters and mains.Dietary restrictions: Very attentive to my allergy.

Have visited The Fish many times over the years and the food remains good but the service was poor. We arrived for Sunday lunch at 1 15pm but it was ages before our order was taken. The food finally arrived at 2 30pm. A second bottle of wine took almost half an hour to reach our table. Staff are pleasant and eager to please but seemed unable to cope with the numbers in the dining room. We paid the bill after another wait and left the restaurant at almost 4pm. Don’t go if you’re pushed for time.

We are lucky to live in an area surrounded by pub/restaurants claiming to provide the "best grub in Oxfordshire" but The Fish, which is much more of a restaurant with a bar that a pub that serves food, is head and shoulders above all the others we have experienced. We have dined there a number of times but yesterday was the first time we have been for lunch. With a choice of eating in the bar, dining room, conservatory or beautiful garden the weather allowed us to eat outside, sheltered from the sun by a hanging grape vine full of fruit. The menu is always exciting & just that little bit different from the normal fish & chips, burger, pie of the day etc., & every time we have visited The Fish the food has been consistently good & well presented & the waiting staff polite, attentive & definitely a cut above the average. And the "icing on the cake" is the prices, which are definitely below the average for the area, especially the drinks. I guess a restaurant can only be as good as its chef - The Fish has a great one, & overall I can't praise the restaurant too highly.

An absolutely delightful leisurely lunch in the warm September sunshine of the pretty garden of The Fish. I started with the Goat's Cheese and onion chutney in Filo pastry, followed by Fillet of Hake with a gingerbread crust. Both were flavoursome and filling. The service was friendly and efficient. An experience to be repeated for sure.

Ordered halibut with lobster sauce, and new potatoes. The potatoes came in their own bowl, which had obviously been microwaved as the bowl was red hot and the potatoes were ferociously hot! The lobster sauce was very thin, and didn’t really have much substance to it. The best thing was possibly the free bread basket

Really enjoyed a mid week evening meal here. Lots of choice on the menu and all 3 courses were really good. Great service too. We’ll definitely come back!
