Lovely Sunday

We’d been up on Wittenham Clumps, ended up at The Plough by chance and were so glad we did. Even though we arrived late and were a motley bunch of friends, family, young children and a dog we were made very welcome. The food and beers were excellent. Recommended .

Well. What can I say? We found the pub by luck more than judgement, which led us to this rather unassuming hostelry one very cold December night. The welcome was warm and friendly. The food, well. Blimmin lush! Very attentive staff Drinks were reasonably priced and the boys said the ales were well kept and great. This would be our local if we lived nearby (jealous of people who do, and I note that the house opposite is currently for sale…)

Great welcome as always. The fire was on, the staff were friendly, the food was filling, just what we wanted.

A great local place with some really good pub

A good pub with excellent beer and food in a beautiful village. It is exceptional for its huge garden, running a long way down to the River Thames, with its own moorings.

Charming and comfy pub. The food was good quality and well made. They have an amazing garden which was pleasant even on a hot day thanks to all the trees. Overall a wonderful experience in a sweet village.

Great frontage, appealing and opposite where I stayed. Really only option for a meal, but what great service- good customer care. Good value and a nice atmosphere. A great British pub being great. No I do not work there. Just a fair opinion on an average Wednesday night.

Called in on spec for Sunday lunch at 14:30 not aware it ends at 15:00. The landlord told us we could eat, but we had to decide quickly. Hubby (Roger) & I chose roast loin of pork. It tasted homemade & was fabulous & plenty of it. Thoroughly recommended though would advise booking. It had a lovely big garden that goes down to the Thames & was very peaceful despite being busy

Very disappointed!Lasagne was small, over cooked, reheated with a dry piece of so called garlic bread spread with pesto! We were also served had a pastie with soggy pastry and unappetising looking vegetables served in a small ramekin. When asked how the food was, it was frowned upon when we complained.Needless to say we will not be eating there again.

Wow thank you Liam and the staff for a wonderful evening. The food was top quality. I had the french onion soup and the magnificent burger. The service was top drawer. I would thoroughly recommend the Plough for a great dining experience. Well done.

A quaint little pub with plenty of off-street parking, a massive beer garden and lots of historical features. The food is also very satisfying and hearty (the fish & chips being of particular note), service is friendly and the location tranquil. An ideal stop-off on the way home if, like me, you've just spent an afternoon looking at miniature towns and villages at the nearby Pendon Museum.

Lovely food. I had the fish and chips which came with the best mushy peas I've ever tasted, and delicious skin-on chips.
