It's a dive bar, for when you're fed up with the pretty pubs on the high street.

This little bar is basic but packed with friendly locals. Bar tender was friendly and helpful. There's a great choice at the bar, including some lovely local ales and lagers. Really reasonable prices too. We enjoyed a couple in here.

A proper pub, you don't see these places too often. It's basic, small and comfortable in the best possible sense, and I immediately felt despite being a stranger. The barman and other customers are friendly and the beer is very enjoyable. There is a small beer garden, with a large outdoor TV, so it's great to go and watch football and enjoy a nice beer.

Old fashioned pub, you’ve gotta love it Come here for a pint, a night out, or even just a catch up it’s class. The barman (Steve) is lovely aswell, what more can you want really. End of the day, come here if you want a good night out!

We visited both nights for drinks only on our weekend away and enjoyed ourselves. The service was good and the beer was spot on. They show sport here (even have a screen outside) and we were able to catch the Derby at Epsom. We liked what they had done to the garden. It was more of a pub than a gastro pub but we liked that.

While I enjoyed the food I was shocked and horrified to see the chef pet and clap a customers dog then go back into The Shack and never washed his hands. Some time later he rubbed his hands on a tea tea towel. Previously I’d seem him flatten a burger for a customer using the palms of his hands so was horrified to see this. No adherence to basic food hygiene standards!!! Sadly this spoilt what had been till then a pleasant evening.
