Good food at a reasonable price but it's the staff are the real deal breakers. They were all so friendly and welcoming whenever we visited. Our go-to pub on a recent short break in Burford. A very pleasnt experience.

Came this Sunday for roast dinner. Me and my partner had roast lamb superb and the cauliflower cheese was out of this world hats off to the chef. Good came hot and didn’t have to wait long. Staff attentive and a lovely pub. Would have asked the chef for the recipe for the cauliflower but didn’t want to seem rude. This chef is a credit to the pub we will be back x

Very small, local pub. Very historic! Friendly service and good food. Thoroughly enjoyed lunch and a pint! Highly recommend.

Waited over half an hour for a couple of baguettes, which when they eventually arrived were stale & practically devoid of filling. Just dreadful all round & obviously not a good eating option in Burford.

Nice location at the bottom of Burford High Street. Small bar area with a restaurant at the rear, some tables outside. We had quite a long wait for the menu's to arrive even though they didn't seem too busy. We chose 3 different of their special pie selection. Shin of beef, chicken, chorizo. They were nicely presented, but all 3 seemed a bit bland and could of done with a gravy of some kind. There is a good selection of beers especially local ales. The bill seemed a bit pricey for 3 pies, 1x real ale, 1x j2o and 1x appletise at £72. As I paid by card and didn't have a receipt I can only presume that they automatically added 10% to the bill. I prefer to decide myself if I have received good service and food and in this case it was not.

I have recently hosted a baby shower with the Girls at the Cotswold Arms and what can I say , It was Fabulous, the Food was cooked to perfection and the staff were just the Best, even though it was a very busy Sunday afternoon everyone was so attentive, I want to Say a Big Thankyou to all of the Staff for making the day so Special for us ! We Appreciate it, we will definitely be coming back.

The food was poor just a baguette and fish fingers pushed in it ..no butter or tartare sauce...and the baguette had been toasted so it was like eating chipboard. Chips ok but no garnish at all... The staff were really load and were joking and fooling around and were unprofessional discussing other customers in front of us.

A nice little pub right in the center of the town. They have an outdoor back garden and a few seats out the front of the pub to sit when it's a sunny day. Food was fine, we had a Baked Potato with Cheese and Beans and Cheese Chips, nothing fancy but filled us up. Staff where friendly and helpful.

Really tasty sausage and mash. In fairness everyone at the table enjoyed their food.Massive shout out to the lady who pretty much on her own did a superb job taking everyone's orders, serving food, taking payment and serving at the bar at a packed house on a Saturday night all with a smile

Myself, partner, daughter and son in law and Nico my grandson who was two a couple of days ago. My daughter and husband treated me to a meal here for my birthday and it didn't disappoint. Huge variety on the menu and excellent child meal we had plenty of choice. My daughter and myself are both vegetarian. We all ordered different things off the menu and all dishes were delicious and very attractive. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. Very pleasant experience. If we didn't live 2 hours away we would go more often. Overall great experience. .... .. .. .. ....go

Place going downhill rapidly. We’ve visited this village a couple of times a year for a good few years now. The service and overall experience has declined. We visited twice over the last 2 days. The first day one of the ladies had no toilet roll and the other had a broken hand dryer. Manageable but not great. My husband went to the gents and the toilet and its seat were covered in vomit. We left shortly after but returned the following day for a quick drink. A number of people were at the bar, at least one appearing to be an off-duty member of staff, criticising the state the pub had been left in the day before by other staff, using very loud, colourful language. Very inappropriate in front of customers. I then went to the ladies and when I came back, I realised I had sat on something on the seat - a toffee chocolate that must have been stuck to the seat before I sat down, had melted on the back of dress and on my bag handle. I told the staff who just looked at me blankly and got a cloth to wipe the seat but offered me nothing to clean my dress. My husband went to the gents at this point and when he came back, said the vomit was still everywhere from the day before. He advised a member of staff of this and we then left and will not be returning. This used to be e well run pub with great staff but now appears to be run by disgruntled, potty mouthed ones instead.

This is a place to avoid, the place is a dump and the food was terrible. We had frozen mass produced cheap food, absolutely no effort at all done with the food

My wife had a steak and ale pie, which was absolutely lovely. I had fish and chips which was ok. We sat in the main bar at first when ordered food but the landlady and a couple of regular were so loud and noisy, we asked to be seated in the rear restaurant. Even there, they were so loud, the noise carried. A young child who I think may live there was running barefoot through the pub, which isn’t really appropriate. The landlady and barmaid were pleasant enough but the rowdy atmosphere could do with being dialled down.

Give it a miss - service slow, poor girl run off her feet and food very average. Much nicer places in Burford.
