3 Night Christmas Package (24th - 27th Dec).We stayed at the Lamb Inn on their Xmas package at a cost of £1,849 for 3 nights which included all meals excluding lunch on Boxing Day.Overall the experience was very enjoyable - it definitely takes a lot of stress out of Xmas at home. The (dog friendly) room was very clean and facilities i.e. toiletries, coffee / tea making were good quality. The food was of a high standard overall apart from the Xmas day turkey roast which unfortunately was quite disappointing. Also, there was no offer of bread sauce, or Yorkshire puddings with our meal and whilst the latter is traditionally served with beef, many establishments now offer Yorkshire puddings as a standard with any roast dinner.Because we had our dog with us, we were not allowed to eat in the main dining room and sometimes felt a little isolated in the lounge area, although it has to be said it was decorated beautifully. On a couple of occasions the table wasn’t fully set but this was a minor point. It is appreciated that you pay a premium to stay in a place like Burford which is a beautiful village but on the flip side many establishments are closed during this Xmas period so options outside were very limited and esp. if the weather is poor. Fortunately, it was dry on Boxing Day so we were able to visit several villages in the area which was very enjoyable.

The room is really dated and the bed is not comfortable at all. Some portions of the mattress appear to be sinked. However, the location of the hotel and the food (breakfast and dinner) in this hotel is great.

Despite the amazing location and beautiful building our visit was disappointing. Four of us went for a quick lunch. Service was slow, the kitchen seems very far away and the waiter was eager to tell us that we had only been waiting 26 minutes and not half an hour. But the food still wasn’t ready yet, new menu you understand.Eventually when the food arrived the two burgers were overcooked with unpleasant and unnecessary pulled pork and little salad. We asked for some condiments ketchup and mustard this arrived after another six minutes. The vegan option was delicious but a measly portion, how much would an extra slice of cauliflower cost? 20p?I felt particularly cheated after reading all the good reviews. With more care and attention The Lamb could be amazing, but currently you would do better at a Wetherspoon’s by.Food & drinks: You would do better at a Wetherspoons.

Absolutely lovely hotel. Had the full English breakfast, deliciously scrumptious ?. No sign of a lamb, though. Perhaps he'll turn up for Sunday lunch?

I visited with my mum and 3 sisters after being recommend to eat at the restaurant here and we were extremely disappointed. The tables were sticky, even after they'd been wiped, service was slow and the portions were miniscule. Service was slow and when food finally arrived the cannon of lamb with mushroom and butternut squash puree was 5 small slices of lamb with 3 paper thing slices of mushroom and 3 small blobs of puree. For £26!The steak ordered arrived well done instead of medium rare. We were told it would be 10 minutes for another but 25 minutes later this hadn't arrived and everyone else had long since finished so we cancelled the order. The member of staff we told was rude and blunt, not even apologising for the meal being incorrectly cooked.

A delightful night's stay.Dinner was exceptional and the reasonably priced bottle of red, delicious. The staff were very welcoming, accommodating and friendly.Breakfast came with plenty of options and was good. The room was comfortable but a little on the tired side, especially the shower room.I would be very happy to return.

We stayed for a 2 night break with our pup and had a fantastic time. The rooms are clean and cosy, the location is perfect for exploring the Cotswolds and the food is superb. The staff were very friendly and the service was great. My only recommendation would be to have some quiet, soft background music in the bar/common areas, as we felt it would have elevated the atmosphere- where at times we felt we had to whisper to each other at dinner.

Returned to the restaurant after loving our visit here 2 years ago. Although the food was lovely, the poor service means I felt compelled to write this negative review. After arriving and ordering we waited over an hour for 2 starters which the staff seemed to have forgotten about. The waiters were inattentive, and could constantly be seen sitting behind the bar chatting to one another rather than helping the guests. We told them that it was the birthday of one in our party. They told us they'd bring out some candles with dessert, but these never appeared. We were still charged the 12.5% service with no apology whatsoever for the extremely long wait for all our food. Considering the price here I'd expect a much higher quality of service, and I'm sad to see it having gone downhill.

A fantastic pub in Burford, thankfully away from the high street.Stopped here for lunch and a beer. The club sandwich was awesome and HUUGE. Chips were also gorgeous.I highly recommend if you're in the area.

Came here with my partner and had some of the best food we have ever had, We had the hummus and babaganoush, the English pea ravioli, and the stone bass and fricassée. The food was delicious and had clearly had a lot of thought put into it, it was all cooked beautifully and tasted amazing. The staff were amazing and attentive and were so polite. Would defiantly go here again as we had such a wonderful experience.

Disappointing. In serious need of freshening up / refurbishment. Way overpriced. Terribly stained dirty carpet. Pillows dating back from the middle age. Not quite the experience we were after for a romantic weekend. However, common areas, pub and lounge are nice and have that great feel of a cosy old place. Food at the restaurant is good and staff is nice.

This was a last minute booking just for one night and I didn't realise I had booked such a special room - called The Allium. Beautifully decorated in shades of blue and William Morris - with a luxurious bathroom bigger than any room at home. The room was very comfortable and quiet - overlooking the exquisite walled garden on one side. It was a very warm night and I am afraid I couldn't get any substantive relief or air from the flashy Dyson fan provided - there was a sticker on it inviting one to download an app - but not a practical option in the wee small hours when sleepy hot and tired. Perhaps a simple instruction card or remote control might be helpful ? I didn't dine at the hotel but we enjoyed aperitives in the garden - slightly marred by the ( very necessary I am sure) smells and noise from the large roof mounted kitchen extractor fan. Breakfast selections were good and efficiently served and enjoyed. I really enjoyed my stay and would be happy to return.

I walked into the lamb and was immediately shocked to smell the horrid smell of urine I then proceeded to see a 6, 7 black man staring at me from across he started to sprint full speed at me and rugby tackled me and pinned me shouting ‘up the Helen’s’ I am totally horrified at my experience and request for a full refund on my my ticket! The owners son keir jones was also walking around rudely with how can I say his little Rodger around saying and annoying the customers do you think this is big enough and to meet him in the toilets all in all I will definitely not be coming back the lamb
