I went for lunch on Sunday 24th March at the Evenlode at Eynsham and I have to say it was one of the worst meals I have ever experienced. There were 3 of us and it was a birthday occasion for 2 of them. One meal only was edible and that was my niece's vegetarian burger. My BIL had fish and chips....the chips were a dark mahogany colour and like rock....he couldn't eat any. I had roast beef (a rare pleasure). The presenation was poor with the beef slung on top of everything with only the burnt Yorkshire pudding really visible, I was unable to cut through the fat that joined the meat and the "beef" itself was so chewy that I had to , as delicately as possible remove it from my mouth and deposit it on the side of the plate. The roast potatoes were just so hard....no crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside here....the veg were hard to cut and stringy. We complained when asked how our meal was....a young lady (manager ?) came to see us and we explained just how dire it was....no self respecting chef should have let these meals leave the kitchen....she said she would talk to the chef. Then nothing ...we just sat there. No one came to see if we wanted more drinks , if we wanted desert.... nothing....we were ignored. Finally a young waitress came and asked us if all was OK ????We explained !!!! NO it was NOT OK. She then came back and said (as if she was doing us a big favour) that 20% had been deducted from the bill. The Evenlode is within walking distance from my Brother in law and is his "local" restaurant. What was supposed to be a lovely family occasion ...wasn't. I had to cook a meal when I got home to Witney as I was still hungry I had only eaten the very burnt Yorkshire pudding and a hard potato.....so beyond disappointed!!

Staff inattentive and rude. Did not have preordered food available and no apology or offering alternative prior to food coming out. Just brought food out and hope we didn't notice it was the wrong food. When complained was told by assistant manager it was a ribeye yet chef came out and said they didn't have any. A lot of the other food was i edibme as well The assistant manager then asked us to eat up as fast as we can and leave. Really. How unprofessional. Then offered 50% off bill. A joke really as 12 out of 15 had reason to complain. To be fair the chicken and leek pie was OK. All resolved but will not be going back.

Pub lunch. Service was OK, food was OK and pricing was OK. Menu again average. Enough available parking. Better than some but not the best.

Very slow, inattentive service. Kept having to flag down staff to get drinks despite being situated in front of the bar.No one asked whether the food was acceptable, or seemed to care that we were there.Menu was mediocre, we all had burgers as that seemed to be the only semi decent option on the menu. Patty was cooked well, but otherwise it was void of any flavour. Nothing stood out about it, it was completely forgettable.Poorest, smallest smattering of fries, "coleslaw" came in the smallest ramekin possible that being included as part of the dish, insulting.A poor experience which is the only memorable thing about the place.Unlikely I'll return.Easily accessible, good parking, clean if boring interior.

Food & drinks: Had a lovely lunch. Food was really good. So much flavour. The atmosphere was calm and comfortable and we were able to take our 3mth in with us without worrying about space or noise. Staff were friendly. The food was the shining star of our visit. Highly recommend the chicken schnitzel!

Came for Sunday Lunch and had a delicious meal. Reasonably price and service from Andrew was fantastic. Will definitely be returning soon. Definitely recommend particularly for a Sunday Lunch, but also saw while in there they do quiz nights so worth a visit!

The service was great, really nice people. The room was affordable and nice, just one or two small things such as the window not staying open and the toilet roll holder being loose. The location was great for Oxford and Blenheim Palace but it is right on an A road and we were woken up by traffic noise once or twice in the night.

Great size meals and very filling, the chicken burger is massive. The Pork on the Sunday roast is on the fatty side & I did get a beer that was gone off which they refused to replace and I had to pay to get it sorted out.
