Good local pub that retains its charm at a time when so many pubs have lost their character and that serves really great pub food. The staff are friendly and helpful and very welcoming. There is a good range of beers, wines and non alcoholic drinks. The menu is straight forward and traditional. Their lambs liver is the best! There is a good sized garden and a reasonable sized carpark.

Delighted to say this is our new local as moved into the area late November 2023. Found it by accident as it's nicely tucked away and it is a cracker of a pub. Wonderful service - Brakspears ale -keeps husband happy, good Malbec for me and a roaring fire. Food is so good............just disappointed they only really do lamb for Sunday lunch which neither of us like..........but, loads of other choices on Sunday anyway........their cream of cauliflower soup is delicious, their haddock with mash and leeks in a cheese sauce - amazing, their steak & ale pie is so good and so flavoursome..............I could go on! The apple crumble and custard went down a treat with his second pint! We've been 3 or 4 times and on trip 3 the owner acknowledged us with a wave and friendly 'hello' - that's very impressive and most appreciated. Dogs allowed by the way. You can't book, you just turn up and hope for the best but it is absolutely worth the trip. Wonderful staff - everyone jolly and chatty - just love this place!

Fantastic traditional English pub - a rare thing these days! Also the food was nothing short of excellent - traditional pub fare but excellently cooked. We had fillet steak and Fish and Chips. The start was perfect, melting and full of flavour perfectly cooked. Trad fish and chips. The chips were perfect too. Staff are lovely and very attentive. This is a treasure of a pub !

We love this pub, it’s nice and local, they do traditional proper food where many others are trying to be too clever and putting off customers by ruining their menus - we’ve stopped going to a few who’ve done this. If you’ve got a good menu then leave it alone! The staff are great, always friendly and helpful. You can’t book tables so get there early on busy days or expect to wait.

Good old fashioned basic English pub, no pretentions, good beer and good basic food, liver and bacon followed by apple crumble with custard.
