Maia, our waitress was endless patient and helpful despite us asking for different things throughout the meal !We all agreed that it was the best Sunday meal we had had for ages.Very good vegan recipe.Relaxed happy atmosphere.Thankyou.

What an amazing restaurant. Five family members met up for a birthday Sunday roast. The food was out of this world with generous portions. Staff were plentiful and attentive. I would highly recommend. To add to this is that my elderly father in law suffered a severe choking fit but without hesitation the staff (in particular the chef) immediately came to help him and with use of the Heimlich manoeuvre his airway was cleared. It was quite clear that the staff had excellent first aid skills which were put into use without hesitation. Saying ‘thank you for everything’ just doesn’t seem enough as I truly feel that you saved dad’s life.

Visited the pub yesterday for the first time for a Sunday lunch. The food was absolutely stunning drinks took a while to arrive but possibly due to the pub being so busy. Kudos also to the Chef who obviously was delivering great covers but also had to administer the Heimlich procedure to a guest who had choked!

Was gutted when Hand and Shears shut, amazing to have same team back bigger and better! Best roasts in Oxfordshire!

Nice staff, lovely food, lovely room / building. The only part that let it down was when the bill came with only one After Eight!Note there were 5 of us, and the bill was for £170.

Booked to celebrate a family birthday. Highly recommended by friends. Unfortunately a very poor meal. Multiple items not available on the menu, further items not available after we had ordered. Food was very slow to arrive and cold when it did. Food was poor. Really disappointed given how highly recommended the pub used to be.

We visited here as it was recommended to us wow how disappointing. Very limited expensive menu and several things were not available even though we were first lunch guests there. It was very cold in there Service was slow, food portion. when it came, very small. Worst thing was bar prices, a soda and lime was £7! more expensive than the beer. I also disagree with the service charge being sneakily added on the bill can only think this is because no one would leave a tip otherwise. I have tried to contact the pub to discuss my bill but their phone was engaged for over 90 mins and they have not answered my email.

Most disgusting place I have ever been. Dogs running around inside the kitchen, bin bags piling up next to the car park. The menu lacks choices, food is not that great either (had dog hair on my burger!!) Staff looks overworked and in general not a nice pub to spend on money on! It was not a good experience, never again!

Limited lunch menu , really nice setting but not very warm Two of us had the fish which was very greasy maybe it should have been drained before plating up . Another had the Wagu burger which he raved about a lot and said it was the best burger he had ever had .

Positives: Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding was delicious.Negatives: Pork was terrible. One of our party couldn't eat it. Really poor quality, basically it was just fat. The service was terrible. One plate of veg came out for 7 of us. We asked for more, but none came. One of the staff asked if we would like more drinks, yes please and gave our order. They didn't arrive either. We asked again for more veg, still nothing. One of our party ordered a vegetarian meal, which should have come with mushroom sauce, it came with red wine gravy, luckily it was in a separate jug. We complained about the pork and they did knock it off the bill. We told the management about the veg. They said we should have asked for more...we did, twice. My suggestion, if you don't have the staff then don't take so many bookings. Should have been really good for the money, but it wasn't. Hopefully the management can sort out the issues as it has the potential to be a very nice restaurant.

First time visiting the Horse and Radish and have to say disappointed overall. We sat down at 12:30 and left at 3:30. To say service was slow is an understatement. The food generally was tasty, but some was cold, whilst others (the roast pork in particular), was very fatty and gristly. We did ask for some items to be taken off the bill at the end, which they were. We also said that we wouldn’t pay the 12.5% service charge as the service was so poor. The owners said they were short staffed, but there were lots of staff, mostly carrying one plate at a time, or they would struggle to put plates down as they hadn’t cleared the previous course plates. The decor inside was nice and parking was ample. Sorry didn’t take any pictures really as we were too hungry by the time food arrived. We ordered puddings too, which then took nearly 40 minutes to arrive. All i can say, we tried it, don’t rush to it, and that for £26 per main course for Sunday lunch it was an expensive experience, that didn’t seem to have the best quality ingredients
