Lovely ambience here and very good food, the cod croquettes were delicious. House Red, £25.5. Service charge 12.5% was made twice, glad to have spotted it and bill amended.

Quintessential English pub with a modern vibe. Refurbished rooms are a delight to stay in and large. Staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. Easy parking within short walk. E v chargers in public car park for overnight top up.Didn't indulge too much in the food menu but the pizzas were delicious. Breakfast is clearly very popular with locals as well as staying guests.Book Direct for best prices and availability. Will definitely be returning.

We had a delicious Sunday lunch here, and everyone in our group thought the food was excellent. Our waitress was lovely, helpful and friendly. Thanks!

Lovely pub, attentive but not intrusive staff, delicious food (even though my request for no tomato in anything had been forgotten, but very quickly rectified, with a couple of apologies) quirky place, spotless toilets with gorgeous smelling hand soap and cream. Will definitely return and may even stay there overnight!

We'd been recommended this restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful. BUT We ordered the ROAST lamb. Vegetables, Potatoes were very good, served in tepid plates so the food was not piping hot. Our lamb was in a shredded pile, consisting of some meat, fat, pieces of skin and, for me, a piece of string. The taste was reasonable, but it was very fatty. When I commented that this may have consisted of meat that had once been roasted but as a roast I was expecting slices, I was told that they did not do slices now. It seemed that any so called roast was served shredded and in a pile on the plate. So my question: When is a roast a roast ? If described as shredded - fine, but not like this surely.

Awful food. Would not recommend for breakfast unless the chef is trained to a higher standard. Ruined the start of a 60th birthday.Food & drinks: The worst cooked breakfast I have ever been served. How a professional chef can send four cooked breakfasts out of a kitchen in the state they were in is beyond me! It wasn’t even busy with more staff than customers! Burnt fried eggs, overcooked scrambled eggs and overcooked poached eggs. Missing items from one, undercooked sausages and bacon on others, bread not even toasted and smashed flat is completely baffling. To top it off having complained they refund drinks which were fine and add a service charge. We will definitely not return.

Visited before Christmas with my children and friend , had a very below average meal. The menu was very limited and my friends main meal arrived cold.

I phoned to book because I needed to be sure is was wheelchair friendly. I was assured it was, but when we arrived, there was no disabled parking and a small step into the restaurant, so I wasn't happy. I had to drop my sister off and our disabled parents while I hunted for a carspace. They waited in the rain until I returned. Then we struggled to get the wheelchair over the small step (the abled-bodied wouldn't notice it) but weren't offered help from the staff. Small menu. No mulled wine (despite being on the menu). Not happy with it at all. Won't go back.

We arrived to celebrate our belated birthdays. My friend and me got a welcome/happy belated birthday glass of a lovely Prosecco. What made us feel special. The Hotel/restaurant is super cosy and beautiful interior. Fireplace was going. Our room was so beautiful and we had a extra large double bed. So worth it. So comfortable. Staff, especially the manager was fantastic, helpful and friendly. Great choices of breakfast. We eat there first evening and it was delicious. We had pizzas. Must say,one of the best we had in ages. We definitely coming back there.

I only ate the restaurant rather than staying in a room, so can only comment on the food. I'll start by saying that the service was exceptional. The servers were very friendly and happy to let me take my time. They never rushed me.The food was not my favorite, although still good. The dishes were hearty and filling, and came out quickly. I do prefer my food very hot temperature -wise, so to me, the dishes were a bit cooler than preferred, but it probably wouldn't be an issue for most.I think the steak was perhaps a bit lacking in seasoning, and the cheesecake could have used more vanilla flavoring, but the halloumi fries were delicious. I think this is a nice place to go if you're in the area.Walkability: On the main road. Easy to get to from Oxford or Blenheim Palace by bus.Food & drinks: Okay restaurant food, but amazing service

On a visit to Blenheim Palace today we called in for lunch. The atmosphere was lovely; the food and service excellent. The young lady waitress was really friendly and professional - she was really helpful.Nearby activities: Blenheim Palace is well worth a visit.Walkability: 10 minutes walk from Blenheim.Food & drinks: Excellent food.

Historic gem in the centre of Woodstock. The Crown was the perfect place to stay. Isla leading the team of friendly and efficient staff ultimately made our stay.
