A country house hotel which felt like we were but in the country but is the city of Aberdeen. Would be nicer if it had a spa though.

It was a comfortable and beautiful hotel with spacious rooms. It's a grand old house that's been converted and has an interesting story behind it too. The food was amazing! Esp the breakfast ? The staff were friendly and helpful too.We were visiting RGU and so it was a convenient location for that. We didn't have a car and so we had to walk a few minutes to take a direct bus into town. Buses were pretty regular during the day but not sure at night. Either way cabs are available (but not Uber ?).

Beautiful place only downside it the overpriced drinks menu, unless you like paying £7 for a pint

The Norwood never fails to pump raw sewage into the woodlands behind ..corporate disregard at it it's finest ..I've lived here for 30 years and always walked the woods behind .. tonight I've had to leash my dog for over a mile due to raw sewage pumped directly into woodlands ..bi will be contacting councillor tomorrow (again) as this problem has worsened over 10 years

We stayed here overnight, lovely location and scenery. Overall the hotel is extremely run down and rooms could do with renovating. Breakfast staff clearly didn't want to be working.

We attended a wedding at this venue. When we arrived there was nobody to tell you where to go. Everybody just wondered aimlessly. Staff looked miserable, If you wanted drinks and paid by card, you had to wander along with staff to find a signal for the machine to work. There were very few seats for people to sit down between the wedding and meal, and between the meal and reception. The food was cold, and some of the meat was sent back as it was undercooked. The reception room at night was cold due to no heating being on, and guests used the double fire door to go outside to smoke. With the result, guests wore their jackets and coats.I would not be keen on attending a function there in the future.

We went and stayed during Christmas. Everything from start to finish was great for us, but 2 separate guests were voicing concerns about no hot water in their room. One of them having a 6 month old baby. Can only hope they were moved to different rooms. Evening meal portions slightly on the smaller side of the scale, but very tasty. Breakfast meals were all good.

We booked a 3 night stay for Hogmanay, costing over £700.The hotel itself is stunning, fabulous location to the City. Whilst most of the staff were incredibly friendly one lady in particular should definitely not be in a customer facing role. Several people complained about her manner which ranged from being abrupt to refusing people more than one slice of bacon at breakfast. The other members of staff, right from arrival were busy fools, with what seemed like no guidance and organisation. We Turned up for pre booked dinner table at 8pm, no table available so had to wait for a further 1/2 an hour in the lounge and trying to order a pre dinner drink tookOver 20 mins despite only 4 other people in the lounge.Breakfast New Years Eve, again, table that had been reserved /booked had been given to other guests who hadn’t booked, resulting in us sitting separately, again, greeted by cold breakfast, warm bread instead of toast and a rude lady serving breakfast.

Arrived today room noise was excessive from water pipework.Could not purchase a proper lunch as apparently chefs were busy. Only sandwiches available.Booked the Hogmanay night. Arrived at the Champagne reception at 7pm. No glasses for Champagne, canapés never reached us. So far not impressed.

Family had Christmas Lunch today and the service was poor and the meal was below expectation. Staff serving meal at the buffet and at the table were inexperienced and lacked any professionalism. For example, no warm plates, no vegetables, and those that were available were cold. Staff were ill equipped for their responsibilities and a member of staff with housekeeping badge on uniform was serving carvery meat, tried his best but was carving from oven metal trays - no carving board! Definitely not worth the money paid for a Christmas meal. My family was there two years ago and completely different standard today. I think the hotel tried to pack too many people into the restaurant and simply couldn't manage. Not the best Christmas lunch for my family- very disappointing.

We have been several times before but was disappointrd this time with the room.TV was in a large cabinet with large doors obstructing the viewfrom a great part of the room. The lightening was very low. Request made at the reception was ignored. Sad as we did feel the standards had dropped.
