Has been our favourite Indian for many many years and never once have I had a negative word to say about the place. Ordered a couple meals and starters for delivery for the wifes birthday (as was her choice) and it was truly awful. The meals had a stale taste and were very watery. The meat was rock hard and there was practically no flavour to them. It's clear that due to being an evening order, this has come out of the freezer. £45 worth of food went straight in the bin. I was so surprised at this incredibly poor performance that I emailed the restaurant to ask if something had happened if there was a reason......they obviously knew they had cut corners and served rubbish so chose not to respond to my email. It was so poor and expensive that I doubt we will risk it again. Time to try somewhere else. Long standing customers lost.

Great restaurant with a good knowledge of gluten free. They make authentic pakoras with gram flour, meaning they are gluten free. Perfect for those that are gluten intolerant or coeliac. Great starters, curries and poppadoms. Lovely touches and a great service and experience. They were really busy with takeaways so we did wait a little for our starters. Amazing selection of gins. Really pleased we decided to go there.Dietary restrictions: Great for gluten free

Great service and amazing food, thanks for the free birthday bottle of wine too.Parking: Parking is a little tight. drive carefully.
This is, without an iota of exaggeration, easily the best Indian restaurant in the UK. 30 years later still blown away every time.

My family and I recently had a fantastic evening meal at Jewel in the Crown. This is some of the most delicious Indian food we have tasted and will definitely be back. Thank you!
