We live nearby so did not stay in a room, but had a wonderful dinner! We took our neighbors out for a treat, and all 4 of us had fantastic meals. The service was outstanding. Food presentation was beautiful, and it all tasted truly wonderful. We will definitely be back!

Walk through the bar and you’ll notice old photos of the inn, one in particular showing a gloomy old lady surrounded by austere folk in long dark dresses or suits. I started with a very decent broccoli and stilton soup with some homemade bread and whipped butter. In fact the whipped butter arrival was late. Our proud waiter, you see, moving so gracefully and carefully around the room, placing each dish with immaculate precision, every movement so perfect and exact, genuflecting at each turn. But not bringing the damn butter until after I’d finished the soup.

Lovely food, lovely Christmas decorations, lovely atmosphere and lovely staff. Had a tasty 3 course meal then drinks in the incredibly cosy and luxury “Whisky Snug”. Staff couldn’t have enhanced the experience, it was perfect.

We had lunch here with our good friends, up from England. They’d booked it as despite living in Aberdeen, we hadn’t realised what a gem this place is. Fabulous decor, really lovely service and delicious food, catering to all tastes. They also have 4 bedrooms, a lovely small lounge, a whisky bar and a small private dining room, all exquisitely decorated. We loved it and will definitely go back! Well done guys!!
