Always delicious food and big portions - highly recommend in that sense HOWEVER the man answering the phone was very rude and unhelpful when asked about dietary requirements for coeliac disease and just in general sounds very miserable when taking your order.Dietary restrictions: Options for gluten-free are very good, curries and rice are safe however beware of potential cross-contamination and the cashier who was very rude, uneducated and unhelpful when asked about precautions in the kitchen for those with Coeliac disease.

Nice Indian style takeaway but they sell pizzas too. Had Indian food there whilst working and didn't have anything bad at all. Was regular too. Tried many things and enjoyedEvery one. Friendly staff. Nan breads are massive.

We used The Balti Cottage twice for takeaways while on holiday in Alness. Both times the curries were excellent. They were full of flavour and good quality ingredients. If this takeaway was local to us, we would be there every week. Top class. Unfortunately I can't say the same for their pizzas. Our kid's pizzas were below average and for some strange reason they used a bright red tandoori sauce rather than a traditional tomato sauce on the base. This didn't go down well with the kids and most of it went in the bin. Stick to the curries!

Uncooked pizza base which was basically raw. Tomato paste was fluorescent pink, like highlighter liquid, which was most likely watered down. Couldn’t eat more than a few slices.

I have just had the most fantastic Chicken Jalfrezi + A Peshwari Nan from The Balti Cottage in Alness The Chef ought to be given a Michelin 4 Star... The Staff were very good as well. The shop was spotless also Oh sorry lads I couldn't eat all of it ! If I could give 10 out of 5 I would. It was a fantastic meal....Thank-you

This was our first try of Balti Cottage since we just moved up. People we have met have all raved about it and said the food is amazing.WELL, FOOD IS AMAZING. staff are extremely friendly, and we will be returning again when we next order.Great to also have a 'car' chat with the gent we met too. Chicken kebab isn't breast of chicken which is OK if you like a bit of leg instead. ?

My friends and I will often order a takeaway from here when we have had a few drinks. The food is average quality but tastes amazing when you are intoxicated. We normally get pizza which is often very greasy. The cheese tastes very cheap. Chips taste like microwave chips. Curry sauce is terrible; watery and oily. The best Indian-related food I have had from here is the peshwari naan bread. It is honestly the best peshwari naan I have tasted from any Indian restaurant. I have also tried their garlic naan which was just plain naan with a massive clump of minced garlic in the centre. I have not tried anything else on the menu except pizza, chips, poppadoms and naan bread so I cannot say whether or not the rest of the food is good, but from what I've heard their food is saturated in oil so I would not recommend unless you are on a night out or having a sesh. Would also like to warn everyone that they may be stuck on the toilet the morning after eating from here ?
