Without doubt my favourite place in Angus, if not Scotland. Well worth a trip to get there.

Absolutely fantastic meal and service!I've lived in the area for 8 years now and knew about the Drovers but had never been. After hearing a few colleagues talk very highly about the food I decided to give it a try with visiting family. I can safely say it was by far the best meal I've had in a very long time!I had scallops, followed by venison loin and then the apple crumble tart to finish. All three courses were delicious and caused me to involuntarily make inappropriate noises! There was nothing I could pick fault at. My wife had wood pigeon, followed by duck and churros to finish. I tried all 3 myself and was totally impressed. My mother had monkfish, followed by the pesto pasta and cheesecake to finish. My father just copied me!Every meal was perfect. The price is incredible for what you're getting. I would say only slightly more expensive than a good pub meal and yet rosette quality meals.Well done Drovers, we will be back, often!

Having been diagnosed with osephegus cancer, decided to visit the Drovers for my birthday as a celebration of Timor shrunk and cancer not spread had my first pint of guiness. We only ordered a main course and noted people after us were beings revel first. My wife’s dish was perfect and so did my dish look great, unfortunately as it took more than 45 mins for our food my throat went into a spasm due to guiness. Therefore unable to eat my meal and was kindly put in a fish box an all the gravy poured out. Explained to the owner who informed me that I should have informed them of my dietary requirements, this was not the issue it was the time it took to get our meal. So asked if could get a gift card for the value of my dish, which was kind of dismissed we cannot issue you any kind of credit. Staff were excellent and tipped them , however after this experience will not be back.

Excellent food for pretty good value. The steak pie is excellent (we recommend ordering it with extra gravy) and the chocolate bauble dessert on the Christmas menu is the best pudding I’ve ever had.

We had thought about visiting here for some time and glad we finally went. What a fantastic meal in lovely warm surroundings. The service was very good with a lovely, patient waitress. I couldnt fault anything and would highly recommend it to family and friends . We will definitely be back and soon.

Great food and service. Very much spoilt by the choking coal smoke from the open fire. The poor staff member who remained cheerful throughout was not only trying to serve drinks and food but had to manage the extremely smoky atmosphere. This is clearly not s healthy workspace for the staff and it should be remedied at the first available opportunity! By the way it's not healthy for patrons either! Maybe a simple chimney sweep might go some way to help!

A hidden gem well worth the effort to visit. The food was excellent, well prepared, well cooked and in particular very well seasoned. As an added bonus the horseradish sauce was freshly made! The waiting staff were well organised, friendly and efficient. Well done to everyone and thank you.
