I got a (1) Sausage Supper. The sausage was really good with a light and crispy batter. The chips had been sitting for a while and we're a bit dried out. This cost £4.50 which was a really good price especially for a seaside town.

Would have given this place no Stars,but it wouldn't let me. Solidified fat on the fryer where chips were served. Proprietor had curry sauce ( or something ) down his apron. One look , and straight in the bin. Why is it,that nobody seems to give a damn anymore. Is cooking decent fish and chips that hard. Passing through on holiday and like to spend money where we stay, seems I need to be more careful. Ps. I hate being negative. But no choice I'm afraid.

Tasty batter and great banter!Not just your average fish & chip shop, but fresh tasty delicious hot food made to order. Yummy, well priced and a couple of great characters cooking and preparing our order.Staff even suggested a few sea view locations to sit in our car and enjoy our hot food. Will be back for sure!Parking: Free parking right outside door.

The owner was very nice and friendly, but unfortunately the food was absolutely disgusting. Fish was overcooked, the batter soggy and a flavour of old oil (which made me through out.). The fish itself had no taste. But the worst were the chips... Incredibily soggy of old oil, i couldn't eat more than 4... My hands was full of this horrible oil... What a waste of money, we gave everything to the seagulls.Regarding the establishment it looked so doggy and the hygiene sounded very concerning. As soon as we entered, we saw 5 chunks of cheddar on a dirty bench in the open air... The smell of old oil was terrible... Please please, do some effort i beg you!!!!!!

Fantastic price . The fish x 2 is quality and they are big . Am in Kilmarnock and love travelling once a week just to pick up my favourite fish and chips fae alberts .

Best chippy in Ardrossan.. love it! Friendly staff and a bit of banter.. excellent food. One of the few chippies here I've found that do JUST a chicken breast not a half chicken which is a waste to me as I won't eat the leg.

Nice clean (no crumbs in batter), fresh, fried fish x 2 in puffy batter. Fried chicken and other selection of fried food and pasta dishes to takeaway. Friendly service.Vegetarian options: some meat free pasta dishes Garlic mushrooms.. Everything fried in vegetable oil.Parking: Should be able to find a space around the area.
Worst chips in the world. Learn the blanch them before frying instead of throwing in raw chips. Also please wash your hands more and use tongs for dipping in better. Clean the kitchen as well it's filthy!!

Battered sausage was looking a bit depressing, chips were also a bit sad, a seagull even spat one out. My m8 said the fish was good though, staff were friendly, good sized portions too.
