Best chippy in the UK!This is the first time we’ve visited Ayr in Scotland as we’re from Merseyside but this place was breathtaking! The staff are fantastic, a nice warm and friendly welcome along with some of the best food we’ve ever tasted (we often eat out 3 times a day) fresh, tasty, top quality food! We would make the 400 mile round trip again just because of this place! Well done to all the staff and the effort you made today to make an unforgettable experience for our family! ?

Five of us went here for dinner after being at the Dumfries House. Nice place to have some nice food! I had the deep friend haggis and chips which was very nice!! I would eat here again if ever in Ayr again. Prices nice too!.

Found thos chip shop whilst driving out of Ayr. Parked up and got two portions of haddock and chips to takeaway and eat up the sea front. Fish had a nice crunchy batter to it, and the chips were nice too. Will be using again if ever back in Ayr.

I was here down from Glasgow for the Ayr Airshow and as the bus queue back home was horrendous, I called into the Blue Lagoon and had a fish tea. The staff were both pleasant and attentive and the meal was absolutely perfect. Proper cooked chips , nice mushy peas and honestly the best fish I have ever tasted in my life. I even mentioned this to a lovely girl server and a very pleasant young man in glasses ( I’m sorry I never got their names). I love my fish and chips and I’ll probably be back on the bus on Friday to have another fish tea.

Passed by the place and thought we give it a try, sadly it ended in a huge disappointment. Moshy chips and the gravy looked like something from the bottle of a general store they barely heated.Sorry guys, such a pleasant waitress, but the food is not worth coming back for.

Food was as good as all other Blue Lagoon. However, dish was served incomplete, we had to ask for the missing item, we were give dirty cutlery and glasses. Understood it was a busy day, but surely one of the waitresses should be trained properly.

An excellent visit I had the fish tea and the fish was brilliant no bones a lovely piece of fish haddock. The chips were made fresh and tasted lovely. The staff were all friendly. Anyone visiting ayr high street I highly recommend this restaurant

Having fancied Fish and Chips we decided to give the Blue Lagoon a try and we were not disappointed. The fish is cooked fresh for you our whole experience was very good and no complaints. What is confusing is the two fish on the menu but, for £3 it is worth having it if your hungry. Good service, Good food

AVOID! The place is a total scam. Prices to eat outside are considerably marked up compared to take away prices. E.g £8.50 for 8 small pieces of scampi to sit in vs £6.50 to take away. Portions very small, and not remotely obvious that the prices differ so significantly. Felt totally taken advantage off. Will not be back.

Went in today 5th sept and ordered large haddock and chips and a scampi and chips. Very small portion and mostly bits of chips.Hubby said about portion of chip and was told that was the it. Fish was good size but not haddock, hubby thought it was cod. 8 pieces of Scampi was reformed not what was asked for. For the price £17 and portion size of food, we were very unhappy. We will be finding a better fish shop from now on.

I drove more than an hour on the last day of my trip in UK, to see Loch Lomond. I had no idea what restaurants are there, and the internet coverage I got from my provider was not so great for me to search out restaurants on the road. I just stopped by at this place in this small charming village which was just beside the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. I had to had a quick dinner as I had to do the long drive back and I had to go the airport next morning at 4 am. When I kept explaining the young boy who served my table about how I can not have beer battered fish, he right away showed me they have halal option to make a deep fried fish!! I was basically shocked to see in a far away village such an option was made sealed in the menu!! I had a nice hot dinner which was much needed given the cold outside. And I had this wonderful conversation with the lovely young girl whose name is Ellie who also helped me in the restaurant while I was having dinner. This experienced made the perfect end of a beautiful UK summer trip. Scotland, I will always remember you not only for the dramatic beauty of the landscape, but also for the sincerity and welcoming spirit of the locals.

Had a cracking fish tea. Chips were great and the battered fish was best I’ve had. Not greasy at all.Got a choice of mushy peas or beans. So we got one of each, wish we got two mushy peas tho, they were delicious. This beats the Anstruther chippy ?

First time visiting Ayr and Blue Lagoon fish and chips restaurant, amazing food best fish and chips myself and my partner have had in our life, fluffy chips with a light crisp edge, tasty white fish in a crunchy batter that wasn't oily in the slightest. Would also recommend giving the battered haggis a try, extremely flavourful and in fantastic contrast with the crisp batter coating.Friendly and attentive staff that made sure everything was perfect for our lunch. Worth the extra couple minutes walk from the beach to visit this gorgeous restaurant.Kid-friendliness: All ages are welcome very family friendlyDietary restrictions: They offer a small gluten free menu
