Seriously, delicious food, I have never had better "dirty fries" anywhere. Every dish I saw the waiting staff bring out looked simply amazing. I would definitely come back again. A tad bit pricey in my opinion but it was worth it.

For me, as a vegan, tempura is usually just the same old dish - battered vegetables. But whilst this restaurant might be called Tempura, they offer a lot more! They have a great menu that pushed the concept of tempura into delicious plates of incredible satisfaction. Their vegan options are varied, with a new vegan dirty fries dish (pictured) that was insanely good. The vibe in the restaurant is very laid back, well decorated, and fantastic background music to listen to whilst eating. The staff are friendly, not overbearing, and genuinely seem to like working there. There's a reason why this restaurant is popular and why they are expanding. Give it a go!Vegetarian options: Caters to vegan and vegetarian, with a wide and good selection of dishes.

Fantastic food and cocktails at this fabulous spot. Great friendly staff. Would always come here if visiting Ayr. Stayed in Ayr for 2 nights and came to Tempura twice, need I say more.

Fantastic food once again! This time around I tried the Filthy Mac and Cheese Fries with tempura chicken on top and it was gorgeous!

Lovely place and staff. Food was really enjoyable. The whole family love it. Also tasty and fun cocktails. Player 456 keep my daughter busy. HahaKid-friendliness: Everyone on the menu could be made in a kids portions. Fantastic.

Great little local place. Host and wait staff are very friendly and accommodating. Delicious food. We had tempura shrimp, tempura chicken and a chicken burger. Excellent fries. Can get crowded so go early. Service was a little slow but that was because it was so busy on Friday night. Food was worth the wait, however. Definitely will return.

Excellent food and lovely staff. Value also very good. If we were here longer we would definitely go again. Well done Tempura!

Really enjoyed this place. Very much a Scottish take on Tempura (served with chips/salad rather than rice/soba). The tempura batter was light & crisp, food and service were very good.

When you walk in a restaurant at 13:30 on a Monday afternoon and there is 1 table left then you know it’s something special. Met by a smiling and chatty Chloe who went through the menu and gave some recommendations as this was our first time visiting. Food was really fresh, tasty and ideal portion size. We left about an hour after arriving with a cheesecake to eat later when we had room , and all the tables were taken. If this is your style of food then you will not be disappointed.

Been here a dozen or so times now and can honestly say that each visit has earned a 5 star review. Nice decor, kinda eclectic a little, but that completely adds to the atmosphere in there. It’s smashin. Everyone that works there couldn’t be nicer, very attentive, happy to chat and answer any questions you have. The food is really nice, they do specials each week, and I’ve tried stuff from the normal day to day menu as well as some of their specials, always leave feeling nicely full. They don’t scrimp on portions. Check them out on FB, plenty pics on there from their menu and specials, would definitely recommend!

Probably one of the only restaurants in Ayr that is consistently amazing on every visit. Staff are also very friendly and look like they actually want to be there.

The food was excellent. The batter was very light and crispy. Filthy fries was a big plate of food with lots of amazing flavours, and the coffee milkshake is very tasty.I took one star off because the disabled toilet is used for furniture storage. This restricted the space and also meant that a support bar could not be pulled down.

Been wanting to visit for a while, but wasn't impressed. Tempura is one of my favourite foods but this just didn't hit the spot. Ordered cajun chicken tempura but it was sweating in the box and the batter was very soggy, the chips weren't very crispy either, could have been cooked a little longer IMO. Either it's the chefs fault or the containers they use, as the cellophane lids on the boxes causes the sweating. Wouldn't rush back if this is the usually standard?! Very overpriced too as the portions aren't massive!
