I recently visited the New Fullarton Cafe in Ayr and had quite an interesting experience. After narrowly missing my bus due to another wheelchair user beating me to it, I found myself with a 30-45 minute wait for the next one. Inquiring at the information desk for a quiet place to wait, the cafe was suggested to me, and I'm grateful for that recommendation.Getting into the cafe had its challenges, as there was a medium-sized step outside that took me a couple of tries to figure out the right technique to overcome. However, once inside, I was greeted by a serene and welcoming community atmosphere. Navigating my way to the counter in my wheelchair was relatively easy. At the front of the cafe, a blackboard served as the menu, and it was refreshingly clear and easy to read.I decided to try the chicken tikka panini with cheese, which was priced at a reasonable 3 pounds. Considering the portion size and the fact that it came hot and fairly quickly, I found it to be a fair deal. The staff were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was inviting. I contemplated sitting in for a longer connection time on my next visit. However, my main gripe with the cafe is the entrance step, which can be a significant obstacle for people who use mobility aids or have limited mobility. It would be great if they could address this accessibility issue to make the cafe more inclusive for all patrons. In summary, the New Fullarton Cafe offers a warm and friendly environment with a straightforward menu and reasonable prices. It's a great place to grab a quick bite, but improvements in accessibility would make it even better for a wider range of customers.Wheelchair accessibility: Okay for a standard-sized chair, the lip at the entrance does make it tricky to enter if you are self prepeling, a wee ramp wouldn't go unnoticed to those using mobility aids.

Excellent food, very competitive prices, but it's the Staff who make this such a good place to visit. They are lovely, kind, friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. I'm also Disabled and they are extra kind and helpful and understand my needs and do everything they can to accommodate them. Definitely The Best Café in Ayr and surrounding areas. Highly Recommend.

When the guy (owner I think) comes up for track and trace asking you questions while standing a foot away with his mask round his neck you understand why we keep going back into lockdowns. And the table was manky.

I pop in here quite often for a coffee before my bus, having a longish time to wait for a bus today, I decided to try the all day breakfast & let's just say I wasn't disappointed- bacon, egg, potato scone, sausage, beans, black pudding, toast & a lovely cup of coffee all for £6.50, freshly & perfectly cooked, not swimming in grease, this was perfection on a plate, decided to follow up with an amazing fruit scone & another cup of coffee, perfect treat after a long night shift, the staff are friendly, chatty & always welcoming & the cafe is scrupulously clean, will definitely be back
