I only gave it one star because there was no option for zero.We arrived at this pub at 9.15 pm on Saturday night (website says closes at 11 pm). Five guys in our mid 50s / early 60s. All sober , hardly a gang. On approaching the bar we were told the pub was closing, despite 20/30 folk all happily drinking making no attempt to leave. Not being the type of guys to cause a problem we left.We were then followed out by a member of staff, don't know who he was , Manager / Owner / Bar Staff who said" we thought there was another two coming in".Make of that what you will, meant bugger all to us. None of us had been in before so god knows why he thought there were another two to come or what difference that would make. One of my mates asked if we could "go in for one", we are asked"how quick can you drink it." At which point I told my mates to leave it. With an attitude like that they were not getting a penny from us far less the £100 they might have got for a couple of hours. If their website says they are open until 11 pm on a Saturday night why are they telling us they are closing at 9.15pm.Even if they had to close at 9.15pm for some reason, why was the front door open, first thing they should have done is close the doors to anyone new coming in. You hear about so many pubs closing in the UK every week ,no wonder with that kind of service. Will never try this place again.

Be aware, cash only! Nice, cosy old style pub. Friendly staff, more expensive than your typical "spoons" but worth a visit. We were there while the police were dismantling a major cannabis farm just up the road, so quite entertaining.?

Brilliant friendly wee place. Always guaranteed a warm welcome. Jim, mein host, always welcomes old and new customers in with a smile and a bit of banter. I have found that this is the one bar that everyone talks to everyone strangers and friends. It is maybe THE best bar to visit in ra toon!

This pub is a gem. It is in Newmarket Street Ayr. From entering the pub till leaving, we had a fantastic time. Jim is the host with the "most".Made us feel most welcome. So full of "scottish patter" made us laugh so much. Felt as if we had one of the "locals" for years. This wee pub is a must to visit when in Ayr

Doesn't serve food. Good old fashioned pub.

Cracking old school pub ran by a very friendly gentleman who was so welcoming, warm and good humoured. Serves a lovely pint of Tennants as you’d expect. Got chatting with some friendly, interesting locals. Landlord (I think his name is Jim!?) lent me a book on Bill Shankley to flick through whilst a supped on my beer. Cash only. Recommended. ? ??????? ⚽️

Great wee pub. Didn't have anything to eat, so couldn't give stars, but I would think it would be as good as everything else.
