Stayed at the Holiday Inn next door so the location was perfect. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially our server. Unfortunately i didn't get her name. The food was decent enough. The meat was lovely but the veg looked like it was microwave three days previously, and just kept warm. The main boost for me personally, was the desert. They serve rice pudding with jam, (They do other deserts too) but this was special. Its not for children as there is a tiny bit of alcohol in it. Just enough to flavour, but wow, what a winner. Not much else to choose from if you are the odd one out in the group who doesn't want or eat carvery. Kids options are decent though with a good deal. Price is what you would expect.

Turned up early for a table in the restaurant and was told to either come back or order at the bar despite our table clearly being free.Found a table in the bar area, asked for it to be cleaned after the adjacent table was cleaned and never happened.Ordered at the bar to be told that the table we had was not to be used and to find another table (none available to fit us), they were good and let us stay.Food took an age, kids meal was pathetic (chicken nuggets - 7 cardboard chicken pieces and a chicken burger consisting of 4 chicken nuggets).Bar staff were over run.Front of house seemed more interested in serving their mates. Was continually asking for things at the bar.Carvery was good value for money at £9.50 but poor front of house, poor communication, blatantly ignored, table not cleaned when asked, poor organisation, poor standard of kids food and incredibly slow service.Ate and left as quick as possible. Would have been longer asking for a refund.Won’t be going to this again.Pro’sGood Carvery feedCon’sAll of the above.

Service incredibly slow. Spent 35 minutes in queue for carvery with only one very slow person serving. Kept bringing veg out but it was cold by the time you got to it. Would not recommend this restaurant.

Staff unresponsive to parking complaint. I got a bill for parking because I failed to fill in my reg on entry. I called, gave my reg and was told it was sorted. Three months later, another letter. Called, no answer, left details including dates and reg to have it cancelled. Repeated this process three more times. Now have a bill for £155 from Debt Recovery Plus!!!!That was an expensive roast dinner if we choose to pay it. I’d speak to the staff to ask what else I can do but can’t get through, and don’t live locally so can’t pop in. Very unhappy!

Carvery was awful. Everything was dried up roast potatoes. You would need a hacksaw to cut themNo mash potatoes think you get the pictures,Boxing day and very quiet, food sitting under heat lampsJust dried up everything,Reputation like this place the food should have been thrown out,Staff we're brilliant very friendlySoup was deliciousIce cream wonderfulOver £25 each mealThat no one could eat not unless they had a hammer and chiselI am very deeply disappointed indeed. But in fairness, I have been here on numerous occasionsAnd the meals have been wonderful and Staff friendly and helpful just an off day hopefully, I am just giving my honest opinion .

Tonight I came for a meal with my family and I've not been to a Toby carvery in such a long time as each time I came they were always very poor. However tonight I took a leap of faith and came here. The food was fresh and cooked to an excellent standard. However it wasn't the food that impressed me the most. I watched the staff go above & beyond for their customers particularly Will who was our server most of the night. He is the type of staff that is needed in a busy establishment like this. Having this type of personality and very welcoming and friendly approach with people is what will make me return. Fanstastoc service!! Also Pauline she is so friendly and fab with her customers! Well done to them both!Nearby activities: M&ds theme parkFood & drinks: Lovely! Highly recommended.

Stopped off for dinner while staying at a nearby hotel for a funeral the next day. We were greeted by our wonderful server, Will, who went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable with the menu. Will is a credit to your organisation and what every server should aspire to be... charming, witty, chatty, and professional. We couldn't have asked for a better service if only all servers could be moulded into Wills. I assure you the world would definitely be a better place! Thanks again, Will!Food & drinks: Good pints and wineCarvery was gorgeousSalmon and prawn Wellington was delicious, but alas only one prawn was found

Room was large, clean good size tv, over all good room, small thing bathroom smaller for size of room half shower door could be awkward for some guests. But don't be put off, we'll worth looking at if on a long trip as close to motorway, yet still quite room.So glad I try a night, and will use again.Good walk after dinner.

Queue wait far too long, only 1 chef carving, only 3 meats available as pork wasn't ready. Quality and quantity of meat was poor, sides looked like they had been lying for a while, dried out. Desserts and table service was excellent thank you to Will.

Regularly dines at this restaurant I used to consider it as a go to for comfort food as it was always clean, professional and tasty.Unfortunately my visit tonight has been anything but front of house staff have been lovely so nothing wrong there. But the carvery staff were rubbish, busy Sunday night at peak dinner time only 1 staff on and he was serving at a snails pace and that would be a compliment. He took time to chat to every staff member on passing totaly unfased with the queue spanning longer than the ropes provided and after all that the thinest slices of meat. Half cold, burnt veg and cold stuffing not good enough. Further to this my wife sat at our table as we do alternating to get food to look after our table jackets and bags, she waited 20 minutes for me before I returned then I finished my food before she has come back a further 25 minutes later! With the same complaints for the food. Why more carvery staff aren't available on a busy Sunday night in December to deal with what I assume is peak season for the resteraunt is beyond me. Whatever that vile screeching noise coming from your kitchen, a wheel of some trolly or some machine alert, please fix it as it gave half of the people in the line an earache. Also clean your kitchen you can see the mess on the floor when you open the door.A. Where else can you get a roast on a Monday night for less than £10. Plentiful food of a decent quality, friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. Embrace it for what it is and you'll not be disappointed.

So we stayed in the holiday inn next door and we went over for dinner. This is our first time going to Toby carvery so I was kind of bewildered to see that chips weren't an opinion.. all the different kinds of meat but not all the different kinds of veg?Either way because my child has additional needs she only had some chicken breast nugs which she loved and a bowl of ice cream.Servers (3) were stood talking while I was trying to get their attention for the bill, even at one point raising my hand like a child while they talked about dogs. While the table beside me complained due to them not having their drinks even though they had been there before we walked in and we were sat with our food at this point. It wasn't busy either.Overall, good food.. questionable staff behaviour.

Visited Motherwell Toby carvery today Sunday 26th November. This restaurant is a place we visit on regular basis & never had any issue’s, but today we had a few issue’s. 1st issue was they skimped on the meat, it was very busy but that shouldn’t have happened.2nd issue, we were sat close to an exit door which the server kept opening. I had to get up & close the door twice. When another table also got up & close the door as it was very cold, the server came over & stated that the door had to be left open as it was a fire door ( training issue) fire doors should never be left open.3rd issue was when we got our bill, we were overcharged. When pointing this out to the server there was no apology just an o right. Not good enough.

Very disappointed at the ridiculous price hike!!!Used to go quite frequently and enjoyed the food which I considered good value. It is absolutely NOT good value now. We left and went elsewhere when we saw the carvery price.I wondered why it was much less busy than it used to be, I soon found out!!

We really enjoy this offering affordability and a lovely atmosphere. Most recently, we celebrated our annual Thanksgiving We were very impressed with the professionalism from the Manager Jo-Anne. As always the compliments to the chef for the delicious cuisine, and the team at the buffet area. We were also blown away by the suberb service by our waiter Jamie, and we look forward to our next visit.
