We visit The Bothy Bar a few times a year when staying in Blair Atholl. The food is good tasty pub grub style and the staff are friendly. Prices are reasonable and they have a range of ales from their own microbrewery in Pitlochry. It's not a fancy restaurant but it's cosy with an open fire in the centre and the atmosphere is good.

A hidden gem! We stumbled across the Bothy whilst desperately searching for somewhere to eat on a cold February night. We were warmly welcomed by lovely staff members, and directed to our table. Table service throughout! Order taking was prompt and efficient. I had the fish and chips, which was delicious, fresh crispy batter, lovely haddock and fabulous chips! However, the star of the show was my fiancé’s meal - the steak and ale pie! This was a huge portion, beautifully cooked meat and plenty of it! Prices were bordering on £20 per main meal, which was more than reasonable for the price. The children’s menu was under a tenner for a main, pudding and a drink. Our child had picked the ice cream but was too full after dinner, and the staff got her a chocolate cookie to take away with her instead!! Overall, we had a fabulous meal, in a warm and cosy, well presented pub, served by some lovely staff and would love to visit again if we are ever passing! :)Dietary restrictions: Menu had lots of gluten free options - appeared they knew what they were doing allergen wise!Parking: Parking is available out the front of the hotel and bar, or in a gravel area directly adjacent.Kid-friendliness: Welcomes children, we took our 6 year old at 19:00 and it felt more than comfortable! Staff went out their way to make her visit special :)

So I went in here randomly when passing through Blair Atholl…..mostly to get out of the rain. I wasn’t expecting how busy and yet cosy it would be inside, the outside tells a different story. I had a coffee and my request for oat milk wasn’t even frown upon (it usually is in other places), it was just a lovely wee place to chill for the half hour I had to spare I felt relaxed and welcome …… I didn’t have food but what I saw looked lovely, so that’s a must for next time. Emma the waitress ( I hope that’s her name) couldn’t have been nicer so, just a lovely girl who is clearly very good at her job and customer service….. total credit to the business. She was so busy but genuinely smiled throughout whatever request was asked of her (there were many). The gentleman (bald sorry) with glassss was really pleasant to, hospitality needs more people like these two. I would definitely go back, I have maybe passed this place 10/12 times in the last year….. I certainly won’t be doing that again.

This place has amazing aesthetics and a wonderful staff. We only with we arrive later when they start serving food at 5pm. However we were able to be served some lovely soups and drinks after being on a lovely hike through the highlands.

So glad we found this place for lunch after visiting Blair Castle Christmas fair. Really cosy place with big fireplace and a nice atmosphere, dog friendly too. Was really busy but glad we managed to get a table. would book a table in the future as a lot of people were turned away. Friendly staff and all the meals we had were amazing possibly the best haddock I’ve tasted! Lots of good choices on the menu from home cooked traditional mince & tatties to salads & Buddha bowls and all very reasonably priced. Will definitely return in the near future!

Fantastic place. Food was lovely, service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The interior was really nice and homely, with an open fire. A good selection on the menu with some great classic pub dishes. We had the fish and chips, gourmet steak burger, and the homemade macaroni and cheese. They were all really nice and would recommend any of them. Proper old style pub chips as well! For dessert we had a cinnamon and apple crumble, and a chocolate fudge cake, which again were both very nice. We would definitely come back again if we're in the area and would recommend a visit!

Love this pub and restaurant. The choices of food for meat eaters and veggie folk is great. The whisky's on offer are awesome. The staff were brilliant too. I wanted to try the haggis and they brought out a small portion for me to try. It was lovely too. If your passing and looking for great food and atmosphere please call and supper them.

I came for real ale and to maybe chat to random people (being a tourist) and check it out for my family for the next day…. but pub is table service only - you aren’t allowed to stand or sit at the bar which ruins the atmosphere and chance to ask questions about local area etc etc. very disappointing and won’t be bringing family back. One single policy has cost them £100 of our money….

A traditional Scottish bar/tavern attached to the Hotel, certainly old fashioned but roomy and charming and with plenty of outdoor seating. A bonus is that it is dog friendly useful in a big walking area. Food variety good and staff pleasant and attentive. They have some quirks one being table service for drinks so if you want a refill at the bar they prefer to take your order and bring it to the table !!!!! seems overkill to me but not a real issue. For sure it is on the return list

Good Service and Great Food To Start Evening with a nice dish of Haggis, Neeps and taffies. However towards the end of meal, I had asked for the Bill, the Server had stated she would Be back with the bill. Waited for 15 minutes and asked another server working the area, and was promptly told to proceed to the bar and Pay there. Paid. The Bill and Left. I Had chosen the Bothy Bar having been here Previously several years ago due to their Excellent Service. It is the Service industry, we all have those days.

After a visit to the castle popped in here with the dog for an early dinner. Friendly welcome from the waitress. All table service. Food was hot, tasty and decent pub food. Prices match location and tourist clientele. Chicken flatbread Scampi Onion rings
