The lunch and dinner menu is extensive with something to suit everyone. We had lunch and the food and portion size didn't disappoint. The steak pie was made with good lean meat, and the fish and chips was plentiful and delicious. Great friendly service. I definitely recommend a visit.

Very kind and helpful! We came here as we ran out of petrol and the owner helped us generously to charge the car (hybrid luckily). During the time it took we had a very tasteful lunch next to the fireplace. So we were lucky twice. And had the time to take pictures of the amazing bridge just opposite of the hotel, too. Ate here two nights of a three night holiday! Seated on arrival, we chose to be in the pub part beside the fire, other tables were through in the dining room. Staff behind the bar and serving tables were welcoming, efficient and very friendly - even on two unexpectedly busy January evenings. Each night the food was fantastic - absolutely worth the cost and the onion rings were amazing! Will recommend to others and definitely come back ?????Food & drinks: Excellent pub selection with local ingredients and a choice for every taste. Onion rings, burgers and haggis lasagne were very good and our group enjoyed a varied and very local cheeseboard. Wide selection of drinks behind the bar.

First time here for dinner tonight as we were at the Landmark winter woods thing with the kids. I absolutely loved it, the haggis lasagne was out of this world. I lost control and forgot to take more photos of the food again which is happening more often than not as the places we go are always top notch.

Took our booking at very short notice. All the staff were really friendly, room was comfortable and the food was excellent.

food took a while, we were in for 45 minutes before our starters were given to us. the chicken was extremely greasy and under fried. staff were very friendly and kind. would recommend (don’t buy the chicken it’s a waste of your £3:50.)

We just had a dinner with my husband and our two young sons. Fantastic experience, splendid food, great atmosphere and lovely, attentive staff. Children menu is absolutely fabulous. Super price and really good quality food. Thank you we will be back.

Had fabulous dinner with colleague from the new dinner menu. The venison ragu was fantastic as was the pork and haggis. Great beers, fabulous cheese board all in very relaxed and welcoming surroundings with very friendly and attentive staff. Fantastic stop-over and location heading to or from North.
I will not rate the rooms because we only stopped for lunch but it is a very quaint place and a welcome stopover if going to or returning from Cairngorms.The food quality is not the greatest ever but the staff and fantastic and extremely accommodating.

Not a bad looking place from outside. Car park is around the back, a little hidden but it is there. It’s quick a dark place inside.The service and food were reasonable. Nothing amazing but I was satisfied afterwards. Lots of tiny flies everywhere which was a bit of a pain but I guess it’s hard to control.

Great hotel. Friendly staff. Great range of food and drink at reasonable rates. Sunday roast was delicious. Single room was comfy and cosy with its own private bathroom. Cooked breakfast in the morning was amazing. Highly recommended.

Excellent pub experience. Food and service were top-notch. The rooms were rather dated, with windows and doors that didn't shut well, low water pressure and rather dusty. To make up for it, the service was excellent and very friendly. If they renovated, this hotel and would well deserve 5 stars.

On arrival for dinner (there being no reservations policy at the time), we were advised 20 to 30 minutes wait for food, but that was okay and so we ordered drinks to while the time away, sitting outside. We checked with staff after 25 minutes of waiting, their response was pretty abrupt, basically saying we would be informed when a table (inside) would be available. We gave up waiting after 50 minutes and went to the cafe along the road (where fortunately we had a lovely meal).
