Absolutely DO NOT LISTEN TO NEGATIVES ABOUT THIS PLACE.We were staying at Scoutscroft park for the weekend and decided to have a chippy dinner on the Sunday. My daughter and son in law wandered up to the takeaway as we couldn't get through on the phone. They were met with a welcome and a smile. They placed an order for 4 x suppers and were told this would take 5 minutes. They spent the time browsing nik-naks and gifts which the shop also sells. When they got back to our van the food was super hot.I had the best haggis supper I have ever had.The son in law had sausage supper and although his was a bit disappointed at the size of the sausages he said they were delicious. My wifr had white pudding and the daughter had scampi. They both said their meals were good and commented on how amazing the chips were. All four suppers cost us £28.Great value for money. All in all great value for money and some great food.

Well over priced for very small portions. unfortunately it's the only fish and chips local.... Will not be returning would go the new inn pub better prices and better value and food is alot nicer

Expensive haddock and chips. Frozen fish, not fresh and very small for the money. Frozen chips were hard and the portion size was poor. £9 each. We won’t be back.
Hollie Smith
Amazing chippy, huge portions and friendly hard working staff.

We've ordered a burger and the burger roll was moldy. Unacceptable, shame.?

Chips were soggy which is usual in the U.K. but the sauce was strange. The ketchup tasted a lot like brown sauce and the mayo was white but didn’t taste anything like mayo. Overall not too impressed sadly.

Lovely little place to stop and eat, with reasonably priced fare. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, so creating a lovely atmosphere.

The 3 stars are 3 out of 3 for the chips which were very nice and a good size portion. The missing 2 stars are for the sausages which get no stars as they were the worse sausages we have ever experienced . No flavour and as soft and flimsy as soggy bread. Please change your sausages as we would like to return for the chips!
Enjoyed our fish & chips but must say the portions of haddock (1 & a half and 1 large chips were only just acceptable for the price £14-00.

I've had several gluten free takeaways from the Sands in the last few months- all absolutely delicious but I think my favourite is the mouth watering scampi and chips I had last night ? Other gluten free options I recommend are battered fish, sausage and smoked haddock and mozzarella. Always freshly cooked and piping hot. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Handy picnic tables outside and no bothersome seagulls.

I had a scampi and chips and got another chips and cheese. Took a while to take my order and then to get it ready. But the food itself .. although not the best, was not bad either.Funny thing is a loud woman came in and asked for a huge chips and said I want it right now..bla bla bla and kept on being loud..while 5 people's order were taken before her and we were all waiting for our order to be ready. Interestingly hers was the first to be prepared. So I guess if you are in a hurry and need your order to be ready quickly from this shop.. just be loud and demanding!

Worst fish I've ever had. Tiny, mostly crispy batter, crumbles instead of chips.
