Nice friendly local pub, food is outstanding and is great during the winter with the fire on giving it a nice homely feel.

There is mold right next to the bed. It's very cold at night and the room was so damp that the wallpaper was bursting. There is more mold in the bathroom and the mattress in the bed is completely worn out. When we pointed out the mold to the staff, they said that it was known and that we should just turn up the heating and let out the cold. However, that doesn't help against the constant cold draft

Busy bar with friendly locals. Dog friendly too! Perfect pit stop after a walk in the Pentlands.Food & drinks: Fast service with good pub grub. Fish and chips are a favourite. Book in advance to guarantee your table if you have a dog. Outdoor tables too, lovely in the summer.

We were looking for a late lunch in Balerno but couldn‘t get parking. It was our luck! Stopped off at the Riccarton Inn, and were blown away by the quality of the food. The service was attentive and friendly. Value for money was excellent. The Cullen Skink was excellent and came with a lovely warm roll, and the venison was perfectly cooked. We hadn’t been here since the pandemic but will definitely be back!Food & drinks: À good range of choices on the menu. The quality of ingredients and the standard of cookery is high.

I've had dinner here three times now. The food is always great and the servers are kind! It is always very loud inside though.

We've been several times for lunch as it is handy for the University. Service is always attentive and food is excellent. Lots to choose from on the menu. Appreciate that it is also dog friendly. Easy to book a table in advance online too.

Rooms were nice but might have been damp at bottom of some outside walls near the bed breakfast was much better than I thought worth getting so

Six of us here for lunch today. Great atmosphere, welcoming and cosy. Attentive and polite staff made this visit pleasurable. The food was delicious, piping hot and served quickly although the restaurant was very busy. I would recommend this restaurant and would definitely visit again

We stayed here with our dog bleu, he was made to feel very welcome, even had his bed in the bar when we had our meal. Everyone was very nice friendly and helpful, food was delicious. Rooms are nice clean and warm, decor abit dated but we were only sleeping here, bed very comfortable. Only down side we could come up with was the room was too warm.
