We have been going to the restoration yard for years now for breakfasts and to enjoy their great shop. Recently we booked for our young boys to participate in the Christmas ornament decorating class. Unfortunately, we had to cancel due to isolating last minute. Within 30 minutes they had issued a refund, no questions asked. I have always thought the standard at Restoration Yard was high and this then confirms the great quality and personal touch which makes a local gem like this so worth having!

Disappointing that a coffee will cost an additional £3 due to charging for parking! It was 3.15pm, I wasn't using the park, shopping area...just meeting a friend for a coffee! Cheaper to stay in town! She would have charged too!

Situated in a large country park that people visit with their dogs. The store is not dog friendly but don't think it's nessecary let you know before you go in or to have a sign outside that says \\\"no dogs\\\" or \\\"we hate dogs\\\". Would recommend visiting the store if you fancy spending £3 to leave your dog in a hot car while you go in.

Nice place. Didn't go into the big shop itself but I hear it has nice things, as should the cafe. I can recommend the food store, has liver cake for dogs if that's what yours likes and extremely nice ice cream for families.

The restoration yard is open. We were so happy to find out that it was again open. This place is lovely, the food is take away style for now. I attached a photo of the menu. The buildings and the park are stunning. It’s a family friendly option we everything you need to spend a great afternoon. On the sunny day you can enjoy a nice walk, there are tables all around the restoration yard. The coffee taste great and in eco friendly vegware packaging ??. We will definitely come back again and again.

Great coffee & lots of GF cakes to choose from.

Overcooked food. They asked us and we told them. "Oh"... was the response. Also the hot dog in the kids menu was almost too peppery for an adult.

Great location to walk the dog, have a coffee and enjoy nature. I really like the restoration yard and the events put on by Dalkeith Country Park. It's amazing to have this location available year round. The grounds are stunning and very well maintained and all the staff are polite/helpful. There are various walking routes marked off and a picnic area in the main green. Adequate parking even during events!

My partner and I have been walking in this park since late pregnancy around a year ago . Baby is now 8 months. The building is very nicely renovated and had plenty of potential. My issues would mainly be sorted out with better management. The cafe is often crowded at peak times and has always been hard to navigate. They closed half of it during winter and that just caused havoc for us with a pram and baby. They did open a room in an alternate part of the building but no service to help you get items to the room and drinks were given in to go cups. Today, we were ousted from the same room, being told it was no longer being used for families. There was nothing booked and no reason why we couldn't have stayed, if they had the forethought to try to keep long term customers happy. The main cafe was ridiculously busy and it took 30 minutes to queue for 2 cakes and a coffee. Had my partner been on her own, with the baby, this would have been unmanageable. Bear in mind they don't help you to the table with items. We wouldn't even have been able to wait for a table with a cranky baby on tow. Staff turnover is high and service is hit or miss at times. Cakes are usually good with a wide choice. Sometimes they are low on stock for no obvious reasons, considering they are made in house

very pleasant - beautiful setting in the old rose sandstone stable yard of dalkeith palace. had lunch in the restaurant then a mooch in the shop. lovely clothes in beautiful colours and fabrics (price tags in a reasonable enough range but a bit too much for my still austere pocket). better adventure playground than when we were last here (2 years ago) with the addition of the sky trail. not exciting enough for my teens though.

I love this place❤ just wish the coffee area was bigger. We always struggle to get a seat and always feel cramped. We don't live near by so when we do visit its with my sister so there is always 6 of us. Tables are small. But the coffee is gorgeous and the cakes are incredible.

Gorgeous place to visit after a long walk around Dalkeith Country Park. I can personally recommend the ginger and lime cake which comes as a large slab which could easily be shared. The shop is full of beautiful items which are ideal as gifts for almost anyone. The courtyard is beautiful, especially on a sunny day. I will return.
