I ordered tagliatelle papalina and when it came there were no peas in it so I questioned if I had the right dish? The waiter then took it back and brought my dish back a few minutes later saying that there had been peas in it but I must have 'not seen them' so they had added more. I noticed that some grey/ green tinned petit pois had been added! The pasta tasted bland so I was I the process of adding salt, when the same waiter came to the table and suggested that I should taste my food before adding salt! I explained that I had tasted it but the dish needed seasoning. Honestly, felt so insulted! So, I had been in the wrong for not noticing tinned peas (that were not there in the first place) then scolded for using salt before I had tasted my food (which I had tasted, and it was completely bland) Furious ?

Absolutely loved it, would glady go again. Very friendly and chatty staff. very good food and a very cosy and friendly atmosphere. The food was excellent, and the house wine was also excellent.

Unhappy customer!!Went with my husband while on a trip to dundee. Starter lovely. Then main course came!! My pasta tasted of burnt garlic. Did not complain at the time because we were out for a special meal and didnt want to spoil it. Told the waiter when he collected plates and nothing more was said about it. Manager was there before we were leaving and he said that he cooked it and it wasnt burnt. Calling me a liar!! I was very offended. I have burnt garlic myself so know what it tastes like lol..very unhappy that manager would speak to customer that way. Bill was over £80 so i think he should have been grateful. If i was looking for a freebie i would have complained at the start and not ate it..very bad customer service. Would not recommend!!

Luckily we had walked past during the day so had seen the signs for 'Cash only', so made sure we had enough for our meal. The restaurant is quite small with a lovely atmosphere, the waiter was friendly and very efficient and the food was beautifully cooked and presented. Can recommend the house wines too! Had we been staying longer in Dundee we would definitely have returned!

Booked for a birthday dinner. There were due to be 4 of us but unfortunately one got sick on the day and couldn't attend. Table was booked for 7:15pm. Elderly mother got the time wrong and turned up at 7pm. Was made to feel stupid and told there was nowhere for her to wait. We turned up at 7:15, I was met with "what's your name?". I said our party is already inside, and was asked abruptly "what's your name?". We took a seat and waited to be served....nobody came. 15 minutes later the waiter came over and asked "is the other person coming?". We said they weren't because they were poorly to which the response was "well it was nice of you to let me know" whilst he snatched the cutlery away. Then we got asked not to fold the menus (because we had opened the menus and folder them back on themselves; like you often would in a restaurant). Ordered caneloni; pretty average, tasted much like the ready meal from Tesco. Waiter spilled water across our table twice (to be fair accidents happen and he did apologise). All in all pretty poor indeed. Won't be going back.

My husband and I popped in on a cold Tuesday evening by chance, no booking was made, and we were very grateful to get a table. We were celebrating a special birthday and had a lovely meal. We had delicious chicken dishes, the Pollo Alla Sorrento and Pollo Marengo, with potatoes and veg, followed by tasty cheesecake. We’ll be back.

Very nice food, I had the seafood risotto, delicious and the seafood was cooked perfectly... Nice wine, the staff were friendly and service was quick, can't really say a bad word about the place.

Nothing great. Others in our group were satisfied with their food, though noting special. However, I had the penne pasta with "spicy Italian sausage", and as a reviewer from July 2022 said, it was "a bit of tomato paste with some salami! Not even a proper sauce". It looked awful, and I was so disappointed when it arrived – just a lot of reddish watery pasta slopped carelessly unto the plate with the very occasional very thin half slice of some kind of salami... with ample watery red splashes round the edge! It looked like leftovers, and felt like I was just eating a plate of wet pasta. The Cassata for dessert was adequate, but didn't redeem the awful main.

We had a beautiful meal here with the Mushroom Pizza and the house special Pasta al Forno. Both were delicious and the service was first class.

Always a warm welcome at Ciao Sorrento with very attentive and helpful staff.Food arrived promptly and was delicious, the red House wine which accompanied the meal was mellow and very drinkable.Definitely worth a visit and we'll be back in October.

Great food, excellent service, all in all a lovely wee place. There was an issue with the card payment machine but they called in advance to let us know that we would need to bring cash.

Booking ran over by 30mins but went next door for a drink. Table was then ready and service and food was really good apart from French fries which were to skinny and brittle bit of a disappointment
