Really great museum, a lot of history not just about Jute, but working life in Dundee. Amazing tour, very well done. The place is very well constructed and designed. And the staff are amazing, in particular, Lily had amazing information of her time in the Mill working at 14. She was even able to show us the machines in operation. Great experience and would highly recommend this to anybody interested in local and Scottish history. I can imagine this would be a great place for School trips too. Plenty of space and activities for children of all ages.

This is a fantastic museum, capturing in detail the history and technical production of jute products, their global impact and the social history of the female and child workforce. More than well worth a visit.

I had no previous knowledge of the Verdant works until i visited Dundee. This is a 1st class exhibition telling the story of Jute in Dundee and has a vast collection of machinery and exhibits housed in an old mill. Extremely well laid out. We spent at least 3 hours in it and didn't see all of it. Their cafe is reasonably priced and manned by extremely helpful personnel. Their was a guide on hand to assist with any queries. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely superb. This place tells the story of jute manufacturing including the harvesting from abroad, transportation, manufacturing process and social impact. Many old machines and interactive displays. You effectively wander around an actual restored jute factory. Would be of interest for all age groups. Spent about 3 hours looking around. Highly recommend.

What a great experience. We really enjoyed our visit here. So interesting and informative. Staff were really helpful and informative. We certainly enjoyed learning about 'Juteopollis.' There was also a display of stunning photography when we visited. Lovely little cafe with great food in the courtyard. Some.intresting local things in the gift shop. Couldn't resist a light pull made from an old shuttle.

Magical place full of local history. I come from a long line of mill workers in various part of the jute process from spinners, cop winders, weavers to calenderers. Really informative with friendly knowledgeable staff who enhance the experience. So worth a visit. Has an excellent cafe too. Thank you

Exceeded expectations. All the staff: cafe (Emma’s) our voluntary guides x 2 and Lily in the demonstration area were outstanding. Almost deserted, we could take our time AND on closing time our last guide started up the steam engine. We spent hours there. The annual pass for the price of a day ticket is generous. PS the cafe serves awesome coffee and food. Well worth visiting.

Really enjoyed our visit to Verdant Works - a lovely volunteer took the time to show us the process with the machines. It was brilliant to see the machines working and a demonstration to bring the process to life. Definitely came away with a better understanding of the social history of Dundee. A bonus is that you can get an annual combined ticket for both the works and Discovery point!

An interesting experience about history of industry, about development of company, which made juta and about difficult and unfair conditions of life workers and their families. Everything is interactive, there are many games for children. You can see origin machines, many videos and different models. There is options of buying souvenirs, drinks in gift shop near to entrance.

Great museum with knowlegible staff. Lots of working machines and a particularly good section on social aspects related to the jute trade in Dundee. I also had an excellent sandwich and salad.

This is one of the best museuns I have visited. It speaks honestly about the jute industry and this makes it highly cobtempirary and a tribute to the people who worked there as well as to the city of Dundee. I really liked the focus on the cobtribution of women and the exploitation of Empire and Colonialism. Really braveThe curation, objects, films and storytelling talk of peoples, places and the harsh realities of 19thC industrialisation and the severity of business competition in the 20thC.You cannot cease to be amazed by the narrative, objects and sheer determination of everyone in this industry. The cafe is great too - and the staff are exceptional. You will not regret a visit here. Indeed, you are likely to return endlessly.

This was a brilliant museum! Great layout and displays. It was fascinating to learn about the jute trade. I loved seeing how the people lived and what they ate etc. and my son enjoyed the machinery! There was also a fabulous display of award winning photography on the day that we went. It was a very enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours :)
