Visited for the first time today but I’m sorry to say I won’t be back. My daughter is on a dairy free diet due to allergies. They really seemed to have no idea at all. They thought eggs were dairy…they thought mayonnaise had milk in it, they thought that a chicken that had been poached in milk was acceptable. Really clueless.I had an ordinary ham sandwich on brown and paid 80p extra for salad. That consisted of a few undressed leaves, half of a cherry tomato and two chunky slices of cucumber. So very poor for the price we paid. They need to up their game re allergies in this day. Wish I had gone somewhere else.I don’t recommend this place at all

Great wee place !! Absolutely outstanding food and service. I go for my lunch every Friday ( l look forward to it all week )My favourite items are the Cajun chicken melt panini , the chicken and banana soup , baked potato with chicken & sweetcorn . Infact everything I’ve had has been delicious, hence why I recommend the curios larder to all of my colleagues who also now love to visit . If your in Westkilbride you 100% need to try this place , you won’t be disappointed 5 ⭐️

Love the selection of delicious take away food and especially the savoury tartlets. Service is efficient and friendly and have highly recommended to friends and family. The coffee is great too.

Take away lunch shop that was a let down. Called in to pick up a sandwich. My daughter is on a strict dairy free diet due to allergies…we struggled to get anything for her. Chef seemed to think eggs were dairy…that her mayonnaise had milk in and that a chicken poached in milk was ok. Finally we got that sorted…shouldn’t have been so hard. Then there was my sandwich. Ordinary ham on brown. I paid 80p extra for salad…which consisted of a very few undressed leaves, one sliced cherry tomato and two chunky slices of cucumber. I really wouldn’t go back…over priced for what we had and absolutely no idea re allergies which is ridiculous really. A supermarket sandwich is cheaper and tastes nicer. Think that says it all. Very disappointed.

I have just eaten an almond cake that I bought this morning. It was the tastiest cake I have ever had !! Each delicious mouthful wonderfully gluten free. Cannot recommend it enough. (They also do gluten free Florentines, empire biscuits, soup and toasties)

This is my experience of my first visit to The Wee Deli Ordered takeaway of 2 sausage rolls which were ready for collection on arrival and my wife chose a Quiche Lorraine type tartlet whilst in the shop. Quiche lorraine type tartlet. My wife was unable to finish it as it had a very mushy filling when heated. Posh sausage rolls burnt on the underside and what I call ‘Lazy Bake’ sausage rolls i.e. looked like and tasted like commercial link sausage wrapped in pastry. Not for me. I prefer real sausage meat. Both ended up in the bin. Pity because these items get good reviews on their Facebook pages.

Stood for 10 minutes on the pavement, which I didnt mind, with only one customer in front of me, eventually I placed an order for a panini only to be told that it would be served with mayo which I didnt want, take it or leave it I felt was the attitude......

My family have been ordering pate every Christmas for years from here and travelling from Glenboig to West Kilbride to collect it - didn't get any last Christmas due to Covid and was getting withdrawal symptoms!!! A colleague mentioned they lived in West Kilbride and we recruited him to order some for us. As usual the service was excellent and when the order was ready it was delivered to his home - he has brought the pate in to us today and I have let my colleagues try it for the first time and they agree that it is the best pate they have ever tasted. I cannot recommend this highly enough to do it justice - it is a taste sensation!!!! Thank you Wee Deli :)
