Food was nice. Bit expensive for a Beefeater restaurant. Would visit again. Attended the quiz night.

A bit difficult to get in to with a wheelchair but it is possible. Food and service were top

Recently booked 3.11.23 Crooked Lum for funeral party. Buffet was outstanding and staff excellent. Only downside no wheelchair access to downstairs tables but staff did their best to accommodate.

Think it’s more of a drinking place - which is fine but if you are in a pub then you expect to pay pub prices. Food is expensive for what you get in quality and portions are kind of meagre. Seems like everything was just air fried, microwaved or slung on a grill to heat up again. Terrible taste of whatever grill oil was used tasted burned or old. Desserts terrible too, either floppy reheat straight from the micro or just tasteless and bland. Have had some ok food in the past, you’re not expecting Michelin star at a Beefeater of course but there just was obviously no care in the food coming out the kitchen whatsoever. Serving staff attentive and friendly but that’s it. Definitely will not be back I’m afraid.

Oh dear what a disappointment, definitely not a recommendationService was very slow, but staff were polite and pleasantWaited over 30 minutes after placing the order and had to ask twice for sauces that were not delivered with the meals plus cutlery missing. Apologies were offered. Food was tasty but reminded me of school dinners in presentation.I like Beefeater Restuarants, but the Crooked Lum is not on my return list. The whole atmosphere was not inviting.Need to do better.Vegetarian options: Not enough optionsParking: At end of Restuarant with steps and pathway to Restuarant doorDisabled pathway was poorly lit, and needs to be checked for lighting whole of pathway, steps were too steep for anyway who has limited mobility.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of children in RestuarantMenu adequate

Thanks to Angela for looking after our large group celebrating a birthday. She was very friendly, kind and efficient. The food was good and restaurant warm on a cold wet day.

Food was cold and overcooked, sent it back, came back still overcooked, I had cheeseburger and only ate one patty with the cheese and half a tub of mayo, my husband steak was cooked fine but by the end was over cooked as had obviously rested on his plate! Disappointed, table next to us sent all food back too!

We used to love it here, the menu used to be awesome but the last few years it’s went really downhill! My son wanted to go here for his birthday, last time we were there was his birthday last year and we waited ages for service so I wasn’t holding my breath for it to be great. The menu is really restrictive if you’re the one person in the family who doesn’t eat beef and massively overpriced for what it is! This year was no better. It was even worse and we definitely won’t be back! There was clearly not enough staff to help the number of people in and we waited ages to even order just drinks! There was little choice on the menu so asked about half portions, to their credit they offered the children’s menu but decided to choose a couple of sides which definitely have shrunk substantially in the past year but were still ok. They brought the wrong order for one of our party, when they eventually got the right order they missed items and it just felt like we were constantly having to correct mistakes (I don’t lay the majority of blame with the staff they were clearly well understaffed and even told us only one person was on the bar getting and serving drinks to the whole restaurant!) it wasn’t great! The deserts used to be awesome but the cheese cake was vile and had bits in it so hard I nearly broke a tooth! Ordered a cocktail and it was literally just an oj with splash of cranberry clearly no vodka or schnapps - utter disappointment. Then of course the bill was nowhere near reflective to the value of the food! Definitely won’t be back! Such a shame used to be one of our favourite places to eat

I was expecting a top notch steak but it wasn't really. Slightly overcooked and not the best quality cut. The one in the mixed grill was a little burned too. I had much better from Beefeater in the past. The salad was basically transfered from packet to plate. Could use some dressing? The halloumi fries were nice but I wasn't sure what was wrong with the chicken. It's like it had a layer of film around it... is it the effect of processing to make it feel more tender ? not sure.

My husband and I were at the Crooked Lum for an early dinner, as always we were looked after by Angela Clark as we are both disabled she is always making sure we are both safe, other members of staff are also very helpful.
