Fabulous, relaxed atmosphere in a busy local pub that has a restaurant at the rear in a separate room. Shabby chic with a mixture of well worn furniture, food was uprated pub grub (fish & chips, selection of burgers and a few other nice choices). Would definitely recommend.

I really want to love this pub as it’s such a cracking spot with lovely atmosphere and a real classic and charming feel. However our last experience left us vowing only to ever return for drinks. Genuinely can’t fault any of the staff who are attentive and friendly. We visited back in November and had a pleasant but not particularly note worthy dinner (burgers and a pure). Though the crumble was actually awful. Tasteless and very watery. Our most recent January visit was for Sunday lunch with family. some starters were ‘forgotten’ two of the same starters had different portion sizes and things left off one but not the other. Then we all decided on a Sunday roast. I’m so sorry to say it was all cold and rather uninspiring. Barely there gravy, flat stone cold Yorkshire puddings. Veg portion was so small and again, stone cold. My father in law who is a butcher said the beef was very good and I agree very tasty. It was all just a bit, lack lustre. When one goes out for a roast you at least expect it to surpass what you can achieve at home. I really hope it finds it feet with the menu as it really is a true gem of a pub.

Rooms: Nice and clean , really nice bathroom, could do with curtains as the street lights shone through the blinds, would be hard going in the summer.Food & drinks: Food is quite good ,I had the roast which was ok ,my wife had the steak pie which she said was very good, side order of kilted sausages were anemic, decent breakfast...bar area was nice and had a really good selection of ales and served a very good Guinness...dog friendly so ?.Noteworthy details: Staff were very pleasant, overall a nice stay, not many parking spots outside but was happy overall.

Great place , and on arrival I was greated by Colin who advised he had sat us next to fire which was especially nice as the Christmas tree was next to it. Top place and the food was grand, I was inbetween looking for locations for projects and meeting and old friend and discovered this little treasure.Highly recommendJamesJAG ART 82Noteworthy details: Very friendly and had a great local vibe and energy. We will be back.

Terrible lunch. Poor quality and half the menu was unavailable, badly managed place. This is not a gastropub. Unable to serve good classic pub dishes

Decided to go for dinner to celebrate a family members birthday. Food was poor quality for what it cost us all. Would not recommend.
