Located on High Street, Bella Italia has set it's trap, for hungry tourists.We ordered the meatballs...big mistake. Basically IKEA meatballs microwaved with some marinara sauce splashed over the top. We also ordered the "margarita" pizza which was just a cheese pizza with some basil leafs. It was all edible but very misleading.We were left feeling like we had been had by this place. Maybe pasta is the thing to get? Idk... Maybe you should just not go here because it sucks? Idk...

Went by to grab some tiramisu to go, and the host was super nice and talked to me while I waited for my order. Got back to the flat and had a taste, and it was heavenly! Totally recommend it!

In the Christmas day of 2023. I had one of the best courses of my life in this restaurant. The pretty faces of the people who are serving in this restaurant with passion and love, and the quality of the food is just from another universe. It’s highly recommended and you can feel the flavours can’t leave the spoons, forks, and knifes that you use to transfer this joy into your system.

Very rude staff.They don’t let you change tables to your preference even before you order. Even if most tables are free and you’re ordering main course drinks starters.

This was definitely not a great experience especially for our first visit to Edinburgh as a family.we waited a long time for our food and the door was left open so it was absolutely freezing. Considering the price of dishes, portions were not very big as compared to the other restaurants we’ve been to. A very sneaky service charge of was added to our bill which we didn’t notice until we left, and that was because of the receipt being poorly printed out. One of the waiters/ waitresses also said to the queue of customers that they should ‘go home’, which we clearly heard but am sure they didn’t hear. Definitely would not recommend this venue but I have eaten at other Bella Italia restaurants with much better service.

We came in for lunch as a group of three, having a main and a dessert. The food was exactly what you'd expect from a Bella Italia and we left happy customers. A word of caution, the ladies toilets are incredibly small. I struggled as a size 10 to get inside the cubicle, only to find the doors had no locks (which isn't an issue because they literally can't open beyond the side of the toilet bowl). Most bizarre...

Food was great! Service was fast and friendly. Great vegan choices, the spaghetti meatballs were amazing! Also the coockie dessert! WOW.Only downside was the toilets cleanliness. They are abit rundown and the women's toilets have no space to use. Really needs an update.

The worst customer service I have ever had in my life! Apart from the fact that the food was very bad, it didn't taste like anything, the waitress was extremely unprofessional. My friend and I ordered our dish, ordered our drinks and when we finished she asked if we would like dessert. We said no as we were still finishing our drinks. She brought the bill after a few seconds without even asking if we wanted anything else. After that, she brought the card machine while we were in the middle of a conversation with our drinks still half full. We said we wouldn't pay yet as we were still interested in another drink. As we felt being expelled we asked her to bring the machine back and we were going to pay. She returned to the table complaining and saying it was absurd because she was doing something else and had to come back to take the payment. I said that I had intended to order another drink before and she advised us to look for another place where we could drink as we were not eating anymore. I asked to speak to the manager and he gave the waitress right, saying that the procedure was for us to withdraw if we were no longer eating anything. I said how bad we were feeling and that in others Bella Italia restaurants in London the procedure was different and that we had never been treated like this anywhere. After the conversation to the manager we felt even worse, embarrassed and humiliated by the service given to us. My friend and I have worked in hospitality for years and we never saw this happen. I dare say that his attitude was even worse due to the fact that he is a manager and agrees with a staff that treats customers this way. The restaurant was empty (and now I understand why) and yet we were induced to leave. I end my stay in Edinburgh extremely sad and with the certainty that I will never, ever enter the Bella Italia restaurant again.

Worst Margherita pizza I’ve ever eaten. Waitress was looking at the table frequently and she clooected everything quickly at the moment we finish our meal. Then she put bill on the table while we were drinking. We were thinking to sit a little more but this behavior means they didn’t want us there. I don’t recommend this place.

We had too high expectations in this "Italian" restaurant. Very small and stiff pizza, which we did not like at all. The service showed signs of fatigue or they were really annoyed and not enjoying their work. It's a shame and it seems that the pizzeria is still only benefiting from a great location on the main street where there are many people and tourists who will never come back or recommend it to anyone. I would love to say at home, hey there's a great pizzeria on the high street in Edinburgh, but I can't say that.

We had explored Edinburgh's High Street/ Royal Mile for much of the morning when we decided to stop by Bella Italia to warm up and have a bite to eat. The food and hot drinks were good, yet a little pricey (I guess you pay for the location and view :)) As the staff also wasn't very attentive, we will probably not return.Vegetarian options: My other half is vegan, and he was very happy with the vegan options available.

We were seated right away, our order was taken and our food was out within 10 minutes. It was really good, and they were very accommodating to my tastes (I can’t eat spicy food, and they made my calzone to order). Highly recommend!
