“Thank god I found this restaurant after a days walk… the food is HIGHLY AUTHENTIC! I love it so much and one of the best valued meal we have in Edinburgh.. I was so stuffed afterwards and it is less than 40 pounds for 2 people. If I ever come back to Edinburgh I would definitely go again!”

“A no-frills place with delicious food. I thought the Lanzhou beef noodle that my husband ordered was very good, but the Chongqing xiaomian--while tasty--could have been more authentic. Sesame paste is not typical for Chongqing noodles. The noodles were also quite dry, so the restaurant should consider adding more broth to the bowls.”

“I absolutely love Street of Beijing! The beef with rice and pepper is my favorite dish – full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and always satisfying. The portions are huge, more than enough for a big appetite, which makes it amazing value. The opening time from 12:00 is just perfect for my lunch break, and the service is always quick and friendly. Great food, generous portions, and such a convenient spot on Home Street. Highly recommended!”

“It's a bit small, but the food and service are great. My friend chose it for the vegan and gluten free options- of which there are many. There is a cauliflower started which will live rent free in my memory for a long time- so good.”

Their dumplings are indeed solid. One of the best ones I had overseas (the skin is outstanding)!
The normal “dishes” are ok, nothing amazing but nothing bad…
… Until the noodle with minced pork and yellow bean sauce was served… The sauce was very authentic and well done (which is the hard part), but it was served with RICE noodle. The texture and mouthfeel are completely off (plus the rice noodle was overcooked so it got rather soft and slimy) - imagine you got a Japanese milk bread when you ordered a French baguette to pair with your soup. It’s just wrong. ?
With the right noodle, it could have been fantastic. Please buy the right type (even if it’s not handmade)… ?”
