This Costa seems to have had a change of management recently which has seen an incredible swing on the emphasis of customer service. Until recently there wasn't any real engagement from the crew and the whole customer experience lacked luster but now you actually feel welcomed and that your custom is important. The store itself is spacious, light and importantly clean. Tables are cleared away quickly. Without a doubt it is now one of the best Costa coffee shops to visit in Scotland.

There's nothing wrong with Costa in general, and the staff here are mostly great. However, there is one women, with dark hair and tattoos who really should not be in the job. She is extremely unpleasant, rude and frankly does not have the right attitude for the service industry. And the way she treated one of the other staff who was training....wow! There was simply no need. It actually made me angry enough to write this review after seeing her speak to a staff member who was clearly in training. There are lots of Costas in Edinburgh city centre and I would recommend them all, just not this one because of the rude, hostile female member of staff.

Typical chain coffee place that left a lot to be desired. It was clean and orderly but the coffee was not great and the staff member making the coffee had noticeably dirty hands. I wouldn't go back.

The moustache man that served me was very nice and welcoming, recommending a Cortado which was also very nice! Highly recommended and service was fast and efficient

Went in for a quick takeaway coffee, manager (short hair) was so incredibly condescending to staff. Overheard the manager being rude to customers at till too. Staff appeared uncomfortable behind the counter, they deserve better treatment. At the very least, basic respect. Not a friendly or welcoming atmosphere at all due to this one individual, would recommended absolutely patching the Costa to avoid a negative experience.

All of the staff were brilliant except some guy with a moustache.Passed my franchise discount card to a colleague who was lovely and took my order (still training) and was unsure what to do - for reference I visit this store most mornings and never had an issue until now - told that they don’t accept it by this moustache guy who didn’t take any time to explain this nonsensical comment even when I highlighted it’s still valid and was just given to me a few weeks ago - he then said nah we don’t take it im going to have to check and put through a discount anyway?He didn’t take the time to help teach his training employee about the situation or the card for future reference and instead turned away and rolled his eyesReally quite shocking to be honest - I’ve worked for over a decade in the services industry and never have I treated someone with such contempt for no reasonI’ll reiterate everyone else was brilliant and the trainee has a fantastic manner towards customers and is attentive- he made a mistake with my order but you know what it didn’t even bother me because he was so niceMoustache on the other hand, has a chip on his shoulderThink I’ll startrt going to Nero for my regular coffees from now on
Was in today at 12:30ish (02/08/2023) , great service from everyone behind the till, however the blonde female barista with short hair was extremely rude and talking down to her two co workers who were on the till and on the coffee machine. Made me and other customers very uncomfortable and felt really sorry for the other members of staff who don’t deserve to come to work and be spoken down to like that. She was totally out of order.

The worse customer service ever. They made a still lemonade three times and it was undrinkable. When I complained they treat me with hipocresy and don't return me the money. Never will come back
