I visited this fine Art shop with my Lady who is an Artist. The staff could not have been more helpful, thorough and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you! 10/10 A1+

I regularly walk over to the Dundas Street shop and I’d recommend it to anyone. If you need help the staff are patient and knowledgeable and if you want to have a rummage by yourself then they just leave you to get on with it. My dog, Goose, also says they do the best dog treats in town!

Reviewing for my wife... who loves this place..! Great staff - very friendly and with excellent advice. Very well stocked with a fantastic range of art supplies. Biggest pleasure is just going into the shop - stepping back in time where first class service is always a given...(even to our Spaniel...). Lucky to have this place in our neighbourhood...

Greyfriars on Dundas St is one of those rare shops that actually decreases stress levels rather than adding to them. Whether browsing their collection of sketch books or consulting with the knowledgeable and friendly staff, I have whiled away many an hour in this wonderful shop. Always ask for help as there are many wonders waiting in the drawers and sliding cabinets behind the counter!

A brilliant art shop. The staff are always so helpful and engaged with all their customers . They take an interest in your projects and do their best to locate paint and equipment for you no matter how obscure .

When I accompanied my partner in to Greyfriars this afternoon, I could hardly believe the rudeness she was subjected to by a young male assistant. When we initially went in to the shop, I could tell he would rather not serve "old fogeys like us" by the way he took a while before asking if he could assist us. However, I have never witnessed such rudeness, when he stomped off and asked one of his colleagues in a disgruntled voice "could you go and serve that woman"? The latter was in response to my partner having reminded him in a polite voice of the type of canvas she wanted, in view of the fact that he had initially got the size totally wrong!Query if the assistant doesn`t like serving people in their sixties or has an issue with women.....or maybe both??Never again would myself or my partner go in to Greyfriars art shop to be treated like second class citizens!

i was served by an extremely rude male shop assistant when I went in to Greyfriar`s this afternoon. Despite me telling him I was looking for a 24x24 inch stretched canvas, he showed me tiny stretched canvases that were clearly much smaller than I had asked for. After I reminded him of the size I was looking for, when he went to the bigger linen canvases, since they were all either portrait or landscape in shape, I told him it was definitely a 24x24 stretched linen canvas I wanted. In response he retorted, "I know what a stretched canvas is" before then saying "I can`t be bothered with this" as he stomped off and asked one of his male colleagues in a disgruntled tone "could you go and serve thatwoman?"When myself and my partner expressed our disbelief at the rude and disrespectful attitude I had been met with to his colleague, he explained that the assistant that had initially served me was having a bad day because of the time of year it is!!When I worked as a nurse for over 20 years, no matter how much a "bad day" I was having, I would treat all of my colleagues, patients and their relatives with the utmost respect. If someone is unable to cope with having a "bad day" due to it being the month of January, perhaps they shouldn`t be working with the public? Customers can go on line or through to bigger art suppliers in Glasgow and buy art supplies without being subjected to a shop assistant`s vile mood swings. If shops like Grey friars want to survive they will have to train their assistants to treat all members of the paying public respectfully. Sorry....that includes older women who don`t fit in with the cool young artist image!!

Went in for a stretched linen canvas, and was met with a rudeness from the male assistant that served me.His colleague tried to excuse this by saying he was having a bad day because it was January!Warning: do not go in to Greyfriars art shop in January for fear of being of met with rudeness and unpleasantness!

Rude, bordering on aggressive customer service. Will not use this shop again.
