Didn’t like the experience at all. Service was not very welcoming which is fine. Seems a bit pretentious about their coffee. I get milk in a filter is not everyone’s thing but categorically denying service for it may also not be necessary. Filter seemed a bit underdeveloped and murky flavor profile. Espresso was a just a bit under extracted. Fruity but too much on the acidity side for my taste at least. And I usually favor fruity African coffees. The Coffee was alright but not what you would get in other speciality coffee places around Edinburgh or in other cities. If you are limited to this street and need a coffee that’s better than the chain next door to it ok. But not for the overall experience and not if you can head towards the meadows for example where there are better choices.

Great little coffee shop with excellent food and drinks. Service was pleasant and attentive.

Food & coffee was good - nice ambience in a hustle area. They have a tiny little place, hence, you will have 1 hour time to sit in. During busy weekend, expect a queue.

Superb coffee. Still the same quality of delicious

One of the smoothest flat whites in Edinburgh. Top quality coffee. Those with a sweet tooth will want to try the caramel brownie. Note: no WiFi and 75-minute time limit as the place is quite small (6 small tables).

Absolutely delicious!! I’ve tried the vegan versions of the banana bread (the most amazing ever), the avocado toast and the yogurt, filtered coffee and matcha latte, and everything was out of the ordinary - a much much better version of regular breakfast food…Plus the place is so cozy and cool and the service was great!

First time at lowdown. Their banana bread with mascarpone and tahini was pretty good! It’s quite small place but good place to chat, read books, and hang out! All the staffs were friendly and nice!I’d come for this banana bread dessert again and would love to try other foods too :)Thank you!
The banana bread alone is worth travelling for from wherever you are in the country

Best coffee in Edinburgh! The baked goods and savoury food options are outstanding too. Coffee and food are made with care, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. There are only 6 tables inside, so I advise going in expecting some waiting time - but it’s worth the wait!
