Delicious meal, in a fab restaurant with wonderful Edinburgh views. Only complaint is that veg is a side order and the restaurant is too hot. Food was delicious especially the winter Berry crumble I had. Would definitely go back.

Lovely meal and staff were friendly. It’s a very popular place and you can see why. My only slight notes of feedback were the chairs are a bit uncomfortable and the toilets could have done with a clean. All in all however, we would definitely go back.

Nice place near the castle on hill - Edinburgh Castle. Very friendly staff, fast service, great beef! Reservation suggested!

Amazing food, probably one of the best I had while traveling. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff as well. The location of the restaurant is also perfect, you get to see so much of the Edinburgh charm.

Amazing food that caters for multiple tastes/ diets. Super friendly staff, Notis was our waiter and he provided great service! Absolutely delicious and warming food!

Worth the hour wait (since everywhere has an hour wait)!! We both got the slow cooked beef shoulder and omg it was so great. And then we got the sticky toffee pudding and it was one of the best we've ever had. Best meal in Edinburgh.

Incredible food and our server Rae was lovely. I forgot to give my allergies but Rae noticed the allergy guide on my table and prompted me - saved me a lot of issues! Thank you!

Wonderful meal. Had the haggis and it was one of the best meals I experienced in the city. Went back a second day to try the scotch egg too- also delish!

This place deserves 5 stars as the food, prices and staff are impeccably good and in addition to being super friendly they are really fast. I can say that I would definitely return to this pub if I were in Edinburgh again. I had dinner with my wife the night before her birthday, and sincerely thank you Scott and thank you Gemma for your availability and for treating us really well. Keep it up guys. This place is really worth it. And compliments to the staff in the kitchen, the dishes were not only wonderful in presentation, but also truly delicious.

We decided to have dinner here based on the great reviews we read on Trip Advisor. The reviews were spot on. We did not have reservations so the line was long, but it was worth the wait. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating. The outdoor seats are picnic tables. The receptionist was very nice, but our server was just okay - not much of a personality. He never checked to make sure things were okay. However, the food was great. We both ordered the Char-Grilled Chicken in Whiskey along with the Scottish Cheddar Cheese Chive Mash. I would recommend this restaurant to others and would not hesitate to return.

After being turned away due to the crowd on our previous visit, we were happy to wait in line at opening time. Our wait was very well rewarded. Laura, our server was cheerful, and served us quickly. I had the Artisan Haggis which was well accompanied by the Heather, Honey, and Turnip puree. It was all delicious. My son visited the "Mushroom Emporium" and was impressed by the variety. This is a MUST VISIT for anyone visiting the Royal Mile in Edinburgh!

Popped in having read the great reviews and we weren't disappointed, the food was very good, staff and service was great, decor and atmosphere was very chill, and only had to wait 20-30 minutes to get seated.

We tried lamb Haggis for main and Scotch eggs as the starter. You can choose from a selection of mash and I chose smoke bacon and it was wonderful. The place is quite nice and pretty large, so despite the fact that it is crowded, you would sit immediately. The Scotch Eggs was perfect and tasty and I'd recommend it, especially for egg lovers. For Haggis, the plate is well designed and feels special, but it wasn't the best Haggis I have tried in Edinburgh.
