Love the premier inn. Please read about the food as I can't give a star rating for food.Food & drinks: Love the premier inn but you shouldn't have messed with the food menu I will not eat here the food is not great. Please let the pubs go back to there old menus when the food was edible now it's over cooked over fried and tasteless.

This was very basic, my key card didn't work a few times & had to keep getting it fixed/changed, location is a bit remote, had to get taxi's into main town there & back (at £10 + each way) the restaurant/bar closed very early (10.30pm on Saturday night!) Very disappointing.

Brilliant service from the staff here. Easy parking, a quick drive to the city centre, clean and well kept, lots of restaurants in the area and good value for money. A shining example of the Premier Inn model!

As a hotel it's great, the rooms are new and clean and the bed is comfortable. It's located next to a restaurant with good pub food.I deduct one star as the Premier Inn free WiFi and the paid for so called Ultimate WiFi is absolutely terrible. I could not get more than about 5 or 6 Mbps in my room or in the restaurant and it kept disconnecting my devices. I had to hotspot my phone on the window sill and got about 20Mbps that way. Surely a modern hotel can have modern fibre internet at decent speeds closer to 100Mbps? Bottom line don't pay for the not-so-ultimate Premier Inn WiFi.

Ultimate wifi is no better than the free one, keeps dropping out. If you're on EE/BT network then you also have no signal here.Staff overall weren't particularly helpful or friendly, felt like a pain when approaching them about the wifi. Overall not the best experience, especially when paying >£150/night

Excellent stay at prem Inn Dalkeith - room improved on previous PI stay in Loughborough a couple of years back... could not fault. Breakfast was everything we wanted/needed and great value... Will stay at Dalkeith again

Lovely place to stay. I’ve been there twice, long term both times. Staff are very professional and very approachable. Highly recommend.Food & drinks: Breakfast and food in adjoining pub was fantastic.

The hotel has plenty of free parking, and the the check in was very easy and quick. Although we did arrive around 10pm so wasn’t that busy at reception. Plenty of tea/coffee available in the room and the beds (plus a cot) was ready and well presented. Staff at reception was very polite and helpful and provided us with extra pillow and duvet without any fuss. The whole family enjoyed our stay. We have stayed in Premier Inns before, they have been good experiences just like this one, so we hope to do so again in the future.

Great place to stay for the Tattoo. Railway station with free car parking with a 10 minute tip to Waverley station

We stay 4 nights. The "Free WIFI" disconnected everyday and very frequently. Sometimes, it cannot be re-connected for several hours; The "family" room is smaller than "Premier Inn Glasgow City Centre".

The Premier Inn would not necessarily have been our first choice but this was during the Edinburgh Festival and accommodation anywhere close to central Edinburgh was going to be difficult to find and expensive. However the hotel and the room were better than we expected and we had a comfortable stay for 2 nights. The hotel is in a quiet area overlooking a playing field so there was no noise. The building is 2 storey with no lift so this could be a problem for guests with disabilities like myself if there are no ground floor rooms. We requested one and they said they didn't have one but when we arrived one was fortunately available. The restaurant called Table Table where breakfast is served is across the parking area so if it's raining a coat and umbrella is necessary.

We stayed here for two nights in August. The staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly. We were surprised to hear they'd "overbooked" and therefore we got a "free upgrade" to a better room. However, I suspect this is a sales tactic to get your to buy the better room next time you stay. The car park certainly didn't look close to full. The room itself was large, comfortable, newly decorated and clean. It was also lovely and quiet overnight due to the location. Much better than staying in Edinburgh centre itself. The shower was good and the bed was very comfy. Overall we were very happy. We didn't try the restaurant next door. The only reason I've given a 4 star review instead of 5 is because the extras we got with the upgraded room weren't great. The air conditioning barely worked and was noisy, the coffee from the coffee machine was gross and the "upgraded" WiFi was intermittent at times. The free WiFi was shockingly slow and the fact they squeeze an extra 5er out of you per day for WiFi that is usable is really stingy.
