Nice place to have lunch or dinner. Some traditional Scottish dishes are in the menu. Good and polite service.

My partner and I wanted to sample traditional Scottish fayre and settled on this place after reading the menu outside. The resraurant was upstairs from the main bar area so we grabbed a drink while we waited for a free table. The aromas from the kitchen were divine and we couldn't wait to order! I chose the Balmoral Chicken which was gorgeous. My partner settled for the Crofters Pie which too tasted amazing. Really friendly waitresses who chatted with the diners. Will definitely be back on future visits.

Popped in here after seeing a poster for Sunday lunch. It was quiet when we arrived around 12 but got super busy as time went on. We were asked for our drinks order promptly and given ample time to decide on food. I ended up going for bangers and mash while my friend had the Sunday roast. My meal was great and very tasty. My friend enjoyed hers too but did wish there was more than one Yorkshire pudding haha. All in all a lovely lunch for a Sunday. I'm back in the area come November and this place is definitely a contender for revisiting.

Had an Absolutely amazing meal with a great atmosphere. Sober for a few month so didn't try the great selection of real ales, it's a great selection of tasty ales non the less.Highly recommend the mixed grill ?

Classis Scottish pub, wonderful food and atmosphere right on Rose Street. The steak pie was truly award winning.

It was a lovely experience with amazing staff who took my allergies into consideration for the whole process. The food was soooo tasty (haggis, neeps and tatties) and so was my partners steak. All well presented and so good we went for the desserts too. Would recommend for traditional pub food with Scottish traditional food too including stovies as all looked fantastic but with so much taste.

I had the Balmoral Chicken stuffed with haggis which was delicious. The downstairs bar was full so I went upstairs to have dinner. The upstairs is smaller and some of the tables are a little tight to get into. Atmosphere was good and the service was excellent. Recommend getting there before 5pm as it was busy all along the street and everyone was eating dinner at the exact same time it seemed. Thankfully I didn't wait long at all to get in.

Walking around the city, we saw many pubs and restaurants along this side street. What drew us in was the fairly full patio seating, with spaced out tables and a couple of remaining spots. Popular enough to signal a decent meal, and still with seating. We positioned ourselves at a high table half-in/half-out of the establishment. We ordered from the bar and took advantage of the meal deals (3 items for 17 pounds or 5 for 26 pounds--we opted for five items). Drink service was speedy and the food was flavorful. Also, the food had both local and international tones. The nachos, for instance, had jalapeños and diced green onions for an authentic taste. Lorraine was our most regular contact within the restaurant, and she was patient, comprehensive in her descriptions, and attentive to my colleague's food allergy. I would probably eat there at least once per week if I lived locally.

A little disappointing for a pub lunch. I don't know if they were understaffed that day (it was a rainy Sunday), but it took over an hour for us to get our lunches - the kids were rather hangry by the time it arrived. The food, when it eventually arrived was tasty enough though - just a shame about the wait.Kid-friendliness: The restaurant upstairs in child friendly.

Popped in here for a bit of lunch and a refreshment ,I Was blown away . The pint was perfect . Their homemade stake and ale pie is to die for...Or as I said . It's worth travelling from Glasgow just to come here for lunch.
