Delightful place with outdoor dining overlooking Victoria St, great staff, and great food.A welcome shelter away from the crowd and tourist joints just a few steps away on the Royal Mile. Seemed to be half and half locals and tourists. The manager was upfront about the wait but we got a table very quickly. Service was quick and efficient. The haggis was delicious, as was the other food ordered; soup and hamburgers. The hamburgers were perfectly cooked and tasty. If we were locals, this would definitely become a favourite. As it is, we were happy to find such a great eatery so easily and so close to the attractions. Keep up the good work!

Nice looking but unfortunately falls a bit short in terms of food quality. We waited quite a bit at the beginning of service. The mac and cheese was lacking salt and the cheese taste was uneven in the plate. Also, quantities were quite small.

I ordered coffee and a fruit scone. The coffee was ok but the scone was more like a rock cake. It came with butter and blackcurrant jam. The jam was fowl.My wife ordered carrot cake and was dry and hard.At £17.00 was over pricedSorry folks we won’t be back.

Came here for a lovely breakfast (full Scottish )which I fully recommend. The menu says a “big breakfast” but it’s not big at all i.e one bacon, sausage, egg and one toast etc.Staff are very pleasant and polite.

lovely breakfast spot! the eggs benedict with smoked salmon was to die for, staff was very friendly, and loved the restaurant itself (nice window and view).

I recommend the vegan scottish breakfast as well as getting toast with avocados and poached eggs!Dietary restrictions: Vegan breakfast (full scottish)

Loved the quaint atmosphere. Service was good. The haggis Mac and cheese left me wanting more. BiL embarrassed the poor waitress, but only because he genuinely liked her accent.

Lovely Scottish breakfast and nice haggis!! Nipps and tatties were nice as well. We sat outside so the atmosphere of the inside was not able to be experienced but it felt really busy and the staff looked very busy. I think the service could have been improved for better experience but the food was great. Having some more cover for rain would be even better

Good food, service and atmosphere. I always try to think of improvements but our experience was perfectly fine.

It was a beautiful finding walking nearby the castle. The food is great and cheap, and the place lovely and historical. I recommend it !

Had breakfast here. Excellent food and good service. We had not booked so there was no room inside. We sat outside - on a very cold windy morning. Would suggest provision of either blankets or outdoor heaters.

Just arrived in Edinburgh and came across Scott's on the way to our hotel (girly getaway with Littlest Foodie). We were at the end of lunch and I think Chef got in a bit of a pickle I think as the soup I ordered was the last portion but not good enough to serve so I was offered anything else I wanted off the menu for no charge and a complimentary drink. I didn't really fancy too much as we planned to eat later in the evening so opted for the baked Camembert bites, sadly these were overcooked. LF had the burger which was great, very juicy and with plenty of crunchy fries. I don't like to take advantage so I ordered a Fevertree tonic. Great location and your staff are all very friendly and helpful, thank you.
