We hadn't booked a table, however that wasn't an issue on the Wednesday we visited. While looking at the menu, we received some complimentary prawn crackers, such a lovely gesture ?. We both ordered the spring rolls, which came with a slightly spicy sauce and both were delicious. Our main courses of Beef with Green Pepper and Black Bean sauce and Szechuan Chicken arrived shortly afterwards, along with some egg fried rice and Noodles( both served in a wooden lidded bowl). Both dishes were amazing. We ordered a bottle of wine and and the waitress kept coming back and pouring it for us, again a lovely touch. Bill for 2 of us with the service charge came to around £50.00 and it was definitely value for money. At no time did we feel we were being rushed, we never felt they wanted us to leave, and when we did, they were really friendly and genuine, and we left feeling extremely valved. The best customer service we have experienced in a long time. Would 100% recommend ?

New Year’s Day family meal…..both the staters and main dishes were excellent, different choices for everyone and very positive feedback from all ! Service very good and always with a smile. Hadn’t been there for a while but definitely be back again soon.

now as a coeliac i find it very hard to find a place to eat, but this was a very good find, we were catered for very well and the staff knew what we were talking about, and more importantly; what they were talking about, the menu points to all foods that are gluten free, and the quality is amazing, brilliant service, very friendly, and a welcoming atmosphere. would definitely come here again! 5/5

Had a lovely meal here on Saturday. There were enough of us that we were lucky enough to get seated in one of there brand new booths (although all the tables look great), we felt really comfortable and the way it’s situated it’s almost like a private little space. The refit is absolutely beautiful, they have been really thoughtful about what you need in a restaurant to make it an enjoyable experience. I particularly liked the new cutlery and seats! There a lots of subtle but lovely choices to reflect Chinese culture and customs like the picture above the curved booth or the depictions of the seasons but without being too much or tacky. thoughts about how people use the restaurant like the water wall that give privacy to the tables there from the entrance but without blocking you behind a wall. Food was excellent. We had one vegetarian and another diner who is very sensitive to spice both of whom were accommodated and found plenty of choices. Service was done very well. Enough that we didn’t feel ignored or have to wait when we needed something but not too intrusive either. We all left with full belly’s and having had a great night out! Thanks we will definitely be back.

I don't no what's happened to food but thats twice in 2 weeks my food has tasted absolutely rotting I've been going here for years and the past 2 visits this month food has been awful ?
Just incredible service from start to finish. So polite, engaging, knowledgeable. An advert for trying somewhere new. Food also epic. Again. Well done to all involved.

7 of us went to the newly refurbished Chinese Manor House yesterday evening and it was absolutely brilliant. All the dishes were really tasty and generous portions. Staff were so friendly and attentive throughout.

This was our first time back to the Chinese Manor House since it recently re-opened after a refurbishment was undertaken. It was a fairly busy early evening meal time, however this was not reflected in the very high degree of fantastic service we received from all staff we encountered and interacted with, throughout the time we were in the restaurant. The menu is well balanced with a good option choice and the food we received was excellent. We considered the cost involved was not excessive. Would have no issues in strongly recommending this restaurant, to both family and friends.

As always this restaurant is a delight to visit. Staff are always friendly and courteous. The food is excellent and delicious. The restaurant has just undergone a refurbishment and has been well worth waiting for. It is a lovely environment to sit in, relax and spend time enjoying excellent dishes. It goes without saying that I highly recommend visiting the Chinese Manor House. It would be a major miss to pass by and not pop in.

Have been going here for a couple of years now with my mum and always had the best meals, food is always 10/10. The service is exceptional. We went again tonight after the refurbishment and could not believe how beautiful it was! Best restaurant in Edinburgh!
