What a lovely quirky and unique find John and his staff were so welcoming and friendly even joined us at the table when we said we were from Yorkshire he had lived there also, Lovely chat. Best Parmo we have every tasted ,we will return and bring the group of friends we dive with at Eyemouth. Thanks for a lovely afternoon. Paul & Kate

Had a lovely visit to hemelvaart bier cafe! A massive selection of beers and John is so knowledgeable about them and the different breweries. Lovely home cooked food to go with the beers. We can’t wait to go back and enjoy some different drinks.Kid-friendliness: We were able to bring the pushchair in and have the baby sat at the table, plenty of space.

Absolutely perfect place to relax on a Xmas-New Year break. Dog friendly and our eldest child loved playing shuffle board. Parmos were to die for - and we are pretty serious about parmos. This is the kind of place I could have stayed in all day pre-kids! Husband enjoyed the selection on tap, I found a good choice of wheat free and non alcoholic beers and we took a few home from the bottle shop as well to enjoy later. Nice touch that we were given little treats for our doggo as well and I loved meeting the owner's rough collie dog who was super friendly! Totally a must visit place if you are in the area.

IPA heaven. Expensive but for the connoisseur it's probably worth it as I'm not impressed by their selection of soft drink, no shorts at all. Food was great and the staff were friendly. Definitely didn't float my boat

Went to see Joe Black perform. Very good.Bar service was a bit haphazard, but that's how it always is. Drag acts in the middle of nowhere. A must if you're near.

I feel like I never review company’s that give me a bad experience as it may just be oversight. But I felt compared to do one for John at Hemelvart. On the 5th of September I placed an order for £300 worth of beer, including their “VIP” package. I had a very promising and prompt response from John to let me know they were out of the country on business and would send my order out on their return back to the shop on the 7th. I then received an email notifying me of several beers that were out of stock and that John was making substitutions for beers lower in cost with no communication of wether I would receive the difference back.Four weeks later, after constant emailing, getting no reply. I received a box which was literally filled up with thrown in cans with 5 of them missing due to courier damage, covered in dents & sticky imperial stout Some off the replacement beers where £7 cheaper and canned over 6 months ago. Any serious USA beer fan will know these wouldn’t be acceptable. Jon said he would replace the broken and missing items but instead has decided to ignore my emails and jet off on holiday with my money taking endless photographs of himself on his social media.I have been incredibly patient. No response via emails or phone calls. I feel grossly mistreated and undervalued as a customer. I now have to raise a claim with my bank for the missing £70 approx.I feel like Jon is someone who is more concerned with being an internet icon and rather a good businessman. I would avoid and use brew cavern.

We decided to call in here because we were warmly welcomed on our last visit. Unfortunately we were made to feel unwelcome on this occasion even though it was very quiet. We probably won't return which is a shame since we like to support local ventures.

Great little find just off the A1 will definitely be dropping along again. Quirky beer cafe with tasty food and the longest list of beers that I have read through. We sat in to eat (takeaway is an option too) a lovely beefburger and tasty pasta dish on a Saturday afternoon. The bar is stocked with a huge number of craft beers with options for every taste. Some great names if you are looking for an unusual gift for a beer drinker there will be something here. Easy to get to from the A1 give it a go.

Had a steak and loaded Bolognese fries between 2. Both were good. This place looks like it needs local support, so please use, I dropped in on my way between Berwick and Dunbar. They are starting to do more food. As ever with venues in small villages use it or lose it ...
