“What a fantastic find! My son and I were passing through Falkirk and needed dinner, not only did we call and reserve a table an hour before the restaurant was due to close, but then we arrived with 15 minutes of calling, thinking we would only be able to grab a quick main course before it closed.
At first we couldn't see the restaurant, as we were expecting a frontage, like its neighbours. Instead, there is a doorway between a burger joint and a barbers. We went upstairs and it felt like we were having dinner at someone's apartment.
We were made to feel as welcome as a regular guest, and at no point did we feel like we needed to hurry up. Instead the owner came and chatted to us about our trip, and the sort of classic car we had parked outside.
The food! Oh my, this really was a treat. It is just a shame that this place is around 450 miles from where I live, otherwise I would be a regular!”

“Parking can be a nightmare. Food is expensive. They have a vast range of different ice creams. Small play area outside for the kids.
Despite the parking and prices I would go back again.”

“Amazing fish and chips. Extremely welcoming staff. They were very considerate and offered to split our shared meal into separate boxes. 100% worth the stop”

“We visited twice while in the area and both times the food was excellent and the staff welcoming and helpful. Our favorites were the copper top sandwich, the steak pie and sticky toffee pudding with custard! Would recommend reservations for the weekend.”

“We had our joint stag and hen do upstairs on Saturday. We had a set menu and the food was fantastic. The staff were all brilliant from start to finish. Jill organised it all for us, big thanks to her and all the team for their hard work. Some of the staff even joined in the karaoke which was great fun. We had the best time!”

“It's difficult to judge this in depth because we were there for a post-funeral reception, so it was very stilted and fairly formal and restricted. We had sandwiches and coffee, which were fine. The service was very nice and pleasant and unobtrusive. I used the toilet, which was fine. The entrance from inside was completely satisfactory but very unattractive from the outside. I don't know how much control the inn has over the path or driveway in and the external onto the pavement, but I feel it could be more attractive and inviting if they're able to do anything with that. Based on the limited experience I had, I would recommend it.
Wheelchair accessibility: Fine. A flat entrance.”

“Hidden gem of a cafe, fantastic service and food.
My only gripe and it’s nothing to do with the cafe is that the howgate itself is a shell of a place and looks more derelict than a functioning shopping centre.
A credit to the owners of this cafe for bringing people back to the toon”
