Starter was delicious, so was the sushi. The ramen was absolutely pointless, bland and very overcooked grey beef. Scattered spinach, beef and some stock isn't ramen. Packet ramen is better. Cold and dry chicken with the other meal. Shame as the starter and sushi was so good.

Decent sushi in a place you might not be expecting any sushi at all.I'll not lie, it wasn't the best sushi in the world. There certainly wasn't anything wrong with it, but as sushi goes it was OK. Granted we had this as takeaway instead of eating at the restaurant, potentially that might have made the hot dishes better. But overall, nothing you couldn't put together at home with supermarket ingredients and for considerably cheaper too.Salmon sashimi, 6/10: it was reasonably fresh, but nothing special, and found a few bones that hadn't been prepped completely. The 'side salad' of just a tomato slice seemed completely at odds with the dish.Sushi mixed platter, 6/10: again, reasonably fresh but fairly basic.Miso soup, 5/10: very basic, not a great deal of flavour.Salt and pepper chicken wings, 8/10: These were actually quite nice, good crunch even after steaming up a take away box. Would order these again.Eel on rice, 7/10: Eel was tender, sauce was sweet and savoury and overall prepared well. The staff were friendly and helpful when I came in to order, and the food was prepared pretty quickly. Special mention to say they very kindly gave me chopsticks for free after I realised too late they needed to be added to the bill (50p per pair FYI) and they have a £6 card minimum so I was a bit stuck otherwise.

Amazing, delicious, fresh vegetarian ramen. Incredible tasty tempura vegetables. One of the best I've ever been to. Thank-you.Vegetarian options: Could have a sizzling vegetarian option could be nice? The ramen was great would like to try other dishes also but might be just tempted for ramen again.

You can walk in or reserve a table. The dishes are delicious. Very large bowls of food. One size plate, so it's a lot of food for one person. You'll sit for a comfortable while eating. The atmosphere is a bit tight. Small space for a lot of people to eat, but it's cosy.Parking: You can park in the asda parking garage for 90 mins free. There is a paid parking lot. Free parking there after 17:30pm.

I have been to Sumo multiple times over the years, and with disappointment, I can only say the quality has greatly decreased. The food is very mediocre, and the meat tastes like it was frozen and fried more than once. The beef steaks, if you can call them that, are tough and chewy. The ramen no longer has fresh egg noodles and now uses cheap soba noodles instead. Sushi rolls are overfilled with rice and have very little filling. They serve a tiny dot of wasabi and two slices of ginger for your entire platter. As prices at Sumo go up, the quality goes down. It is definitely not a real Japanese restaurant, just one pretending to be.Not recommended.

Love sumo, been coming here for years and recently decided to get a takeaway, I got the sushi platter and katsu curry (classic), great portions and had loads of left over curry to enjoy the next day ?✨ Sushi is always fresh made and delicious and I love that they do takeaway option (you must collect, no delivery). Can be quite quiet in the restaurant sometimes which makes you feel like you also have to talk really quietly as it's a small room but wouldn't put me off going as the food is amazing. Staff are so friendly and attentive. ? ?
