1st time coming here as we are visiting Scotland for a few days and i must say the food was absolutely amazing. I cannot fault the 2 staff members who were serving us as they was short staffed and rushed of their feet. You guys did amazingly, keep up the good work and hopefully we shall visit soon ?

Visited a LONG time ago, food was OK. Visited today; food and service and atmosphere were all top-notch! Had a steak sandwich - no chewy gristle, no soggy wetness etc - it was brilliant! Definitely worth going again if its been a while!!

Amazing service this evening. Food was made specifically to my requests and dessert designed to suit as well. Server was so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be recommending to others and returning real soon. ?

Happened across this place as we were staying at Premier Inn across the road, and were less than impressed with Beefeater attached to the hotel. Daughter has dairy intolerance, so rang up to ask the question of will she be able to have anything. Lady that answered was very knowledgable on the menu, suggested a few items, but as everything was cooked fresh they’d be able to alter something to suit. Brilliant! They managed to squeeze us in at last minute on a Saturday night, and the three of us were sooooooooo glad they did. Wife said it was the best steak pie she’d had in years! My enchilada’s were tip top too, my daughter had the kids chicken strips which was proper home made (no freezer rubbish). Chips were proper, even the peas were the sweetest I’ve tasted for a long time. All in all, just fantastic. Staff were very attentive while not pestering. We came back tonight (Monday) and was just as good! Wife and daughter pretty much had the same as they enjoyed it so much the first time! I had macaroni cheese, and it was soooooooo nice! Again, just a lovely place for a bite to eat. Thank you so much, and we’ll be back next time we’re up this way.

Good service. Menu had a variety of choices. Included meals for those with a smaller appetite which was very welcome. Suitable prices. Bridged the gap between a pub and a restaurant. Parking available. Meals available all day. Good for families.

Never been here before but passed the Coppertop on our way to the train station.Called and booked a table as the menu looked goodBeing a hyper critical person, here I go:Welcome - Seated very quickly by a friendly member of staff.General - Quirky place - Round room with bar off to the side. Nice open space. Area appeared very clean and cared for.Staff - On the ball. Tables cleared as soon as people leave. Plenty of staff on duty.Drinks - Drinks order taken within a couple of minutes. Brought to the table very quickly.Food Order - great choice of food. Food order taken very quickly by a friendly, polite staff member.Toilets - Nothing more to be said than spotless. Impressed already and my food has not even arrived yet.Food - Served very quickly and a good size portion. Piping hot and freshly cooked. Very tasty indeed. Sweet and sour chicken was spicy and hot. Hunters chicken was served again piping hot and a decent portionDeserts - Again served quickly and as expected.Overall impression EXCELLENT.Value for money A*.Well done to all the staff on duty.Well worth a visit.

Lovely quirky place to have a meal were fortunate to be able to book in twice on our trip. If we had been there any longer we would just have made our way through the menu! When in that area again this is where we are going!

We booked this place at the last minute. The staff were excellent, happy to deal with questions and informed re the food. I had thr club sandwich and my friend all had the signature steak sandwich. We all agreed they were some of the best we'd had anywhere. Fresh bread and good, well cooked ingredients. Excellent all round.

I’m saddened, ordering a steak pie and receiving tasteless unseasoned boiled or stewed “steak “ also very watery and topped with a square of puff pastry( not a steak pie ) Boiled garden peas and carrots boiled bland and boring! Hand cut chips are great but there were a few verging on undercooked. I was glad there is salt n pepper on the table! On a plus side the staff seem friendly and a nice calm atmosphere. I’ve been previously where the food was satisfactory, unfortunately not on this occasion.

Popped in for lunch, the service was good, prices are fair and we all enjoyed our meals, they have quite a good choice and do a range of small plates for those with smaller appetites. It’s more pub grub than fine dining but what would you expect for £10 - £15 a head. If you’re after a nice simple meal in pleasant surroundings it’s worth a visit in my opinion.
