“Wandered in after a long morning walking and delighted to be given a warm welcome. Staff were busy but obliging and friendly.The food was fine, standard pub fare as you'd expect but we had no issues. The chicken fajitas was excellent, large serve and extremely tasty. Just what we needed.Would definitely recommend this pub.”

“The first pint after a big hill always hits different, but my reviews always control for such variables. First up, the beer here is good. They have an impressive number of house beers on tap, and some interesting guesties too. And they're served in super cute glasses so extra points for that. The vibe is spot on; open, climbing art, nice iron beams, high vaulted ceilings. I managed to prevent myself from scaling the structural supports, but it was tempting. And lemme tell you about these pizzas. Superb dough, and the competition is stiff these days. Extra extra points for original slash unusual topping options on the menu too. Like leek and caramelised onion, which is obviously what I had and it was a belter. Good vegetarian options. Friendly staff. Excellent tunes.”

“Edit:Returned for a 3rd time, this is one of the best restaurants in the area - a must try if you find yourself nearby. Lunch and dinner available, and you'll find yourself returning - just make sure you save space for dessert, as they're a must try too!-- first visit:Firstly, seats are limited, but it's worth the wait.I had the steak burger, chips, and salad, it comes with a salsa sauce and you can ask for other sauce too such as mayonnaise. Really good quality meat, and overall great meal, lovely staff, and beautiful surrounding.”

“Great place. As someone with newly developed gluten and dairy sensitivites, they were very ready to accommodate me. One of the first questions they asked was about allergies and sensitivities and had a fully printed out allergy menu.I don't get my "burger experience" when I'm out often, so it was a nice change.Great selection. My husband had the lasagna.Service was friendly and very competent. Heading back for breakfast”

“We visited Fort William back in September and we loved the Grog & Gruel. They had the best cider (Thistly Cross whisky cask) and they even sell it in bottles for you to take with you. Our favourite bartender was Jay- he was very friendly and great at his job! We only ate (and drank!) downstairs, but the food we had was excellent. We can't wait to come back!”
