“This place was suggested to us from our hotel and unfortunately the first time we tried to go was fully booked. This is why I highly recommend to plan this in advance. The food and the atmosphere worth the reservation compared to the other restaurants of the area. They serve fresh fish and good wine. The prices were ok compared to the portions. They have a specials menu and the regular items. We mostly tried the specials as you will see in the photos. We shared a pumpkin soup and a salad with pumpkin, fig and burrata. For our taste the soup needed a bit more flavour, which was easily fixed with some salt and pepper. We all got fish dishes which all of them were quite tasty. The dishes come as “pre fixed” so for example when we asked for smashed potatoes they couldn’t add them in the dish. We offered to pay of course but they only served French fries as a side dish which was ruining a bit the healthy side of all the dishes we got. The only real «complaint» was that the pasta with fish was a bit extra spicy. I could handle it but I believe most people couldn’t.The staff members were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend you to visit this place.”

“We visited Fort William back in September and we loved the Grog & Gruel. They had the best cider (Thistly Cross whisky cask) and they even sell it in bottles for you to take with you. Our favourite bartender was Jay- he was very friendly and great at his job! We only ate (and drank!) downstairs, but the food we had was excellent. We can't wait to come back!”

“Easily one of the best Wetherspoon I have ever been to, clean and tidy, good atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing location, get the right seat and you can see the loch and the hill while you dine. Food was really nice (best Wetherspoon’s chips I’ve had), cocktails not great but they never are in Spoons but the beer was cheap, nice and served quickly. Went back for breakfast in the morning, large portions, good value for money, beans could have been hotter and fried egg a bit more cooked but in all, a really good experience.”
