Can't speak for the food, didn't have a chance to try it. I booked a table for 3 at 6:00 pm... not only did they say "you'll need to leave by 7:30 though"... Next day hits 6:00 pm, we're all there to hear a " table for 2?, No? Hummm, no I don't have you on the booking... You can have a take away if you want, we're fully booked for tonight". Such disappointing costumer treatment.

Was really looking forward to visiting but left feeling a little disappointed.Menu was quite limited. My nasi goreng was a bit too oily. Didnt taste amazing. Very average. Disappointed i chose this main. Partner had a curry with a single drumstick with some potatoes. I had to use his curry to accompany my disappointing nasi goreng but it didnt make it any better. Very bland. No flavour.Had smashed cucumbers as a side. Disappointing also.Cucumbers werent really fresh, a bit soft. Flavours in the sauce was bland.Only really tasty thing is the malaysian roti. We got the main meal portion to share along with our 2 mains. just as well we didnt get it as one of our mains as it would have left us hungry. Portion was small for a main dish. Also did not enjoy drinking water from a small plastic cup that i have the same ones from ikea that i use for my 4 year old kids.It doesnt cost alot to get some glasses from ikea.I think another diner mentioned it was boring and lacking in flavour. Im sorry but i have to agree. Love malaysian food but not sure if i would visit again.

Overrated. Hate writing bad reviews but the hygiene of the palce is terrible, dusty windows and window sill decorated with gathering dust dried flowers, floor with sticky with stains. Tables not immediately cleaned after customers left, so you are sitting surrounded by dirty tables. Toilet was dirty which is always a bad sign for a restaurant. Glasses had marks on them. Overpriced considering what you get plus feeling grubby. Smashed cucumbers had no flavour and no lime, my friend with no chef training makes better. Shame really, expectations were higher after all the press this place got. Also it seemed like stuff didn't want to be there and didn't care, hence hygiene issue. Also overhead them complaining about the place.

I’m not sure why we’ve not been here before because the reviews are justifiably effusive in their praise. Food was exceptional. Couldn’t fault any of the dishes. Portions are generous. Prices are very reasonable. Staff really great and helpful. Definitely will return.

Before going forward please note that as we only got a delivery i cannot comment on the in-house experience of going to Julie's which i am sure is wonderful having read all of the reviews. When our food came it was very cold and this was not a great starting point however i fully appreciate that the restaurant have very little control over this which is why I hope that people are not deterred from visiting. That being said both me and my partner have been left feeling pretty dissatisfied with the food and felt like it was insanely overpriced for what it was. We ordered the Nasi Goreng, Gyonga curry. While both were perfectly fine, the fact that they charge £14.50 felt a little steep considering we had to order rice separately on top of that. The curry was essentially one uninviting chicken drumstick. The Nasi Goreng was supposed to have chicken and whilst there were small strands of pulled chicken through the dish there was simply not enough. In addition, e also opted for one of the Malaysian pancakes. Again - perfectly fine. However this pancake was £7.50?! Completely understand that everything is more expensive than it once was but there are plenty of other Glasgow Southside restaurants who continue to keep standards high without overcharging customers and this just felt like a bit of a rip off. Overall pretty disappointed and would discourage others from getting takeout from this restaurant.

I'd never eaten Malasyan food before and, after giving it a try at Julie's Kopitiam, I must say I'm hooked. We had the traditional roti flatbread and two veg curries, and everything was delicious! The place is a cozy little restaurant with very nice and friendly staff. If you happen to be in Glasgow, this sure is a place to try!

Delicious food with a cosy intimate vibe. Has a homemade authentic feel and is clearly made with great care and love. Excellent friendly service too. 10/10

I'm a fan, been a few times over the years and loved it. Yesterday the food was good, we had nonya curry and the noodles. Service was dire.We asked for a little explanation of the dishes and the waitress told us she didn't know what we meant? She described both dishes we ordered as "Chinesy" with little else to say didn't say what flavours were included or veg, which was very odd, I really didn't think it was odd to ask about the menu but she made us feel like it was an odd request. We booked a table for 7:30 on a Thursday, and it seems service now stops at 8, so we were the last table left by 8:15 with no offer of desert, and we felt a bit rushed out the door as the waitress turned people away at 8:01pm. Sadly I won't be returning as it was a rushed experience, some training for the waiting staff wouldn't go a miss

Absolutely delicious South East Asian food. We’ve tried nasi goreng and kari dal followed by mango sticky rice and have to say that all we’re amazing. So happy we became local to this little gem.

Three of us booked a table at what we thought would be a nice meal at this small place. We arrived a few minutes early and we were told, in no uncertain terms, to go away and return at the time of our booking. I was genuinely astonished at just how passive aggressive the young lady was. Upon our return we endured the worst service we have ever experienced. The three of us adore Malaysian food and we have travelled throughout that country several times, so you can imagine our disappointment at being served such poor food. However, we weren’t actually served our food at the same time. My wife received her curry a full 40 minutes before I was given what was supposed to be Nasi Goreng. It was not even close and tasted burnt. The third dish appeared about 10 minutes later and was cold! I would definitely not recommend this ridiculous place.
