We had a take away from Scallops Tale tonight and it was delicious. Mine was gluten free and it was the best I’ve had in a long time. Amazing quality and the fish was perfect. We will definitely order from here again.

Thought we'd visit Scallops Tale following it just being awarded one of 5 Best Scottish fish and chip shops named in Good Food Guide and it did not disappoint. All 4 meals were fresh and delicious. Food was reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend and will definitely return!

We visited the Scallops Tail tonight as we had seen that they had won an award and were interested in trying it out.As someone who has worked in customer facing environments before, I have to say, the service was impeccable.The food is cooked from fresh and in view of the counter, so you can see that it is freshly made and for those who care, you can see how it’s made.The food was out of this world. The chips were insane, and the sausage was wonderful. A special batter I was made aware. Very impressed.As with anything, the cost matters, but regardless of posting upwards of £40, I really can’t complain. Everyone has their own threshold of pricing for things, and that’s okay. For me, I was happy to pay that because I felt the service and quality were worth it. Would I do it every weekend? No, but I don’t eat takeout every week, so for a treat, it was worth it.It certainly has become the benchmark for me. Will be some effort to out-do these people.Overall really impressed. Hope to hear more of more success from this place.

Menu was not nearly as extensive as shown on the website, probably only 30 % despite the booking being a Saturday evening. Food quality was ok apart from the Thai monkfish curry which was more Italian than Thai. Total lack of atmosphere due to only 3 other diners in. Service was excellent with a very pleasant young lady being polite and efficient. Unlikely that we will be back.

The food was reasonably nice, but nothing to write home about. The service was slow, the menu was different from what it said online, and the price was extortionate. Seriously? Over 90 quid for 3 people?!! And no alcohol available either. Tables were small and there was little room for anything like glasses.

No atmosphere as it was only our table occupied on a sat night! Didn't realise it wasn't licensed (our fault for not noticing on their website) but what IS on their website is a very much more substantial menu than the one we were presented with. Food was good, what we had, but bit more choice would have been nice. Service was good, friendly young girl server. We will maybe go back when they get a license & it's hopefully bit busier. It's a very nice restaurant, just needs an atmosphere....

I am so glad we found this place. The food is of a very high standard, using fine ingredients and the staff are thoroughly pleasant and welcoming. We have been twice now and are going back with friends soon. Go! You won't regret it.
Delicious food of the children large portions and for the adults fantastic fish and chips and even better deliciously caramelised scallops. Even better it is BYO pick up and few cold beers and a bottle of wine from M&as just around the corner what more can you ask for .

We just oreded three large portions of chips to take awayAnd when we got homeThe chips and a portion of nuggets .everthing was really ,chewy and totally inedible .spoke to somone and they didnt seem interested al allWe will not be going back again

So we went in for a meal tonight and got a starter with 2 mains and asked for it to all come out at the same time. This totally did not happen and we were left waiting an extra 15mins on my wife’s food being brought to the table. The food was very good tasty scampi basket with very good chop shop chips and side salad with and excellent dressing. The chicken pasta my wife got because was late had a watery sauce and was bland due to this. We complained about this but apparently the waitress blamed us saying we asked for it separately which is weird as we asked for the mains and starters together. There is also a nonnegotiable service charge of 10% on the meal that when asked if it could be removed as we didn’t think the service warranted it was told no. Again I must stress the food from the chip shop side was amazing just the rest was a complete disappointment.

We traveled quite some distance to sample the food at this restaurant after buying vouchers as it had a somewhat “quirky name” Boy were we not disappointed in anyway at all, from first arriving and getting shown to our seats in a lovely decorated upstairs part of this restaurant by a most helpful gentleman to us leaving this restaurant has it all, my choice of starter was the Queen Scallops in their shells cooked in garlic butter (they were amazing) my wife enjoyed calamari which again was perfect. Our mains were fish and chips and Scampi, my fish and chips consisting of one haddock fillet in breadcrumbs with the other in batter was a first for me but my goodness was it delicious. I would personally recommend this restaurant to anyone who stays or happens to be passing through Bearsden as the food served was delicious and hopefully we can return again soon.
